Aim:
On the basis of the study of the main links of immunity to determine the characteristics of
immune resistance in young children (from 1 to 3 months) with pneumonia.
Materials and methods:
30 young children with clinical manifestations of pneumonia at the
treatment stage were examined. The control group consisted of 20 healthy young children.
Immunological studies included: determination of immunophenotypes of subpopulations of T-
lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes.
Results:
Analysis of the content of T-lymphocytes in the blood of young children with pneumonia showed
a significant decrease in their relative number in the phase of peak and stabilization of 39.7 ± 0.91 and 42.2
± 0.86%, respectively, compared with the control group 52, 4 ± 1.40% (P <0.05). An analysis of the content
of CD4 cells revealed a significant decrease in their relative content in both phases of the IVS 23.3 ± 0.48
and 25.4 ± 0.28% against 27.8 ± 0.80% in the control.
A quantitative study of B-lymphocytes expressing the marker receptor for DM19 revealed a tendency
to increase in the peak phase and a significant increase in the stabilization phase of 58.4 ± 1.48.
Conclusion:
Thus, the manifestations of the immune response in young children with
pneumonia are characterized by the tension of a number of indicators of immunophenotypes of a
subpopulation of T and B lymphocytes.
The use of indicators of immunophenotypes
of a subpopulation of T and B lymphocytes gives a
prediction in young children about respiratory
disease.
