In modern society, information culture serves not only individual
development, but also economic, political and cultural progress. The necessary
tools for the development of information culture are digital technologies, online
educational platforms, libraries and social networks.
Today, in the requirements of modern society, each person must have the
skills to analyze, adapt and disseminate information. This requires the
development of information culture. One of the most important features of
modern society is the rapid spread of information and its importance in
influencing interactions, decision-making and social development in society.
Each person must not only receive information, but also have the skills to
analyze, adapt and disseminate it. This requires the development of information
culture.
Information culture is the level of knowledge that allows a person to move
freely in the information space, participate in its formation and interact with
information.
Information culture includes:
• Information processing skills: Searching, processing, storing and
presenting information.
• Digital literacy: Using modern technologies and information and
communication tools.
• Compliance with information ethics: Fair, reliable and legal dissemination
of information.
Information culture was formed with the development of world
informatization processes. If we consider the history of its gradual development:
1. The era of writing and printing. The invention of writing became the first
means of storing and distributing information. The printing revolution, in turn,
made it possible for information to be disseminated on a mass scale.
2. The emergence of information and communication technologies. In the
20th century, the development of telephones, radio, television and computers
dramatically increased the possibilities of transmitting information.

3. The digital era. The development of the Internet and artificial intelligence
ensured the rapid exchange of information on a global scale.
The following conditions are important for the formation of information
culture:
Education system:
o ICT-based education. Organization of special courses on information
technologies and digital literacy in the modern education system.
o Teacher training. Formation of teachers' skills in using modern
technologies and methodologies.
Social environment:
o Increasing information awareness. Carrying out activities to select
reliable information and identify false information in society.
o Promoting ethical and legal norms of information dissemination. Teaching
citizens to use information resources responsibly.
Technological infrastructure:
o Wide access to the Internet. Development of high-speed Internet
infrastructure to ensure quick access to information.
o Development of digital services. Expansion of online libraries, scientific
databases and distance learning systems.
Legal environment:
o Legislation on ensuring information security. Development of standards
for the legal and safe use of information.
o Fight against misinformation. Development of measures to limit the
spread of false and unreliable information.
In short, the formation and development of information culture is the main
condition for ensuring the intellectual, economic and cultural development of
society. To effectively organize this process, the education system, technological
development and social responsibility must act in harmony.
