Game technologies are increasingly being used in education as a way to engage students and make learning more fun and effective. This is especially true in the teaching of foreign languages, where games can be used to practice vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation in a more natural and interactive way. This article explores the importance of using game technologies in the teaching of English as a foreign language (EFL) at school. It begins by discussing the benefits of using games in the classroom, such as increased motivation, improved engagement, and better retention of information.  Furthermore, this work also discusses the challenges of using game technologies in the classroom, such as the need for teacher training and the potential for students to become addicted to games. Overall, this article highlights a comprehensive overview of the significance of utilizing game technologies in the teaching of EFL at school.

This article examines the role of corpus linguistics in the study of linguistic terminology, emphasizing its impact on both the development and understanding of linguistic terms. By analyzing real-life language data across various genres and communities, corpus linguistics offers a rich, empirical basis that challenges traditional linguistic theories and promotes a nuanced understanding of language complexity. This study explores the transformative potential of explicit linguopragmatic instruction in English Language Teaching (ELT). By integrating politeness strategies and implicature, the research reveals a significant impact on the communicative competence of 150 English learners and 10 experienced teachers. Students showed marked improvement in linguistic and pragmatic awareness, including the ability to decipher nuances and apply appropriate politeness markers in varied social contexts. Teacher interviews highlighted the adaptability of linguopragmatic methods, with educators employing role-playing, discussions, and explicit speech act instruction to engage students. Challenges such as limited curriculum time and a lack of specialized resources were noted, emphasizing the need for tailored support and culturally sensitive materials. This research underscores the importance of linguopragmatic competence in ELT, advocating for its integration into curricula to equip learners with skills for culturally sensitive and contextually appropriate communication, fostering global citizens adept in pragmatic interaction.

Since the concept of globalization and English language has become interconnected, neither of them can be discussed without mentioning the other one. That is how it becomes clear that English is undoubtedly the most popular and powerful language that shapes the society that decides how the businesses and transaction’s function. Apart from its advantages in terms of globalization and development of communication, it clearly has cons when it comes to the degradation and understatement of other non-English languages. This article also argues that it is important to take into consideration the value of local languages that are threatened by the globalization and popularity of English. On the one hand, these phenomena led to the spread of English and rise of multilingualism which are obviously positive developments. On the other hand, globalization has also resulted in the decline of minority languages. Therefore, it is important to be aware of both pros and cons of globalization and behave according to it so that linguistic diversity can be promoted without degrading local languages

The paper synthesizes a range of techniques aimed at enhancing speaking proficiency, drawing from various pedagogical approaches and activities.

The main purpose of this article is to give more information about how can educators teach and improve their students’ speaking skills by using English videos. In order to avoid theoretical lessons, some use methods are available in this article. It has been proofed during one-month experiment that watching English videos is one of the most effective ways of improving speaking ability for A2 level learners. There is some information about qualitative and quantitative data which were the most interesting part of the experiment, were used. In addition to this, recomended and suggesting additional articles included in this article that related to speaking ability as well as reading, listening.

The article highlights the importance of video resources in enhancing English speaking skills, emphasizing their role in not only teaching new concepts but also keeping students engaged and facilitating language learning.
A study was conducted on B1-level learners in grade 8 who were divided into two groups: an experimental group of 15 and a control group of the same size. The experimental group was taught using video resources, while the control group received traditional instruction. The results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group in terms of speaking proficiency.Over a period of 10 days, the experimental group received English as a second language instruction, supplemented with various video materials, aimed at improving their speaking proficiency on a daily basis. After a re-test was administered to all students in both groups, there was a significant difference in the mean scores between the control and experimental groups. The experimental group performed better, with a higher percentage of knowledge attributed to their improved speaking proficiency, resulting from the use of innovative teaching methods, particularly video-based language exercises.

Данное исследование выполнено в рамках нового антропоцентрического направления лингвистики – лингвокультурологии и направлено на анализ лингвокультурологических единиц – реалий. Автором статьи особое внимание уделяется понятию “лингвокультуремы”, представляющей собой целостность языковых и экстралингвистических значений. Исследование фокусируется на анализе перевода слов-реалий, одного из видов неэквивалентной лексики, с использованием различных способов перевода, таких как транслитерация, калькирование и контекстуальный аналог. Результаты исследования могут быть полезны для переводчиков, лингвистов и специалистов в области межкультурной коммуникации.

This article delves into how idioms in Uzbek and English reflect their respective cultures. Idioms, like “raining cats and dogs,” carry cultural meanings and values. This study compares idiomatic expressions in both languages to uncover how they differ structurally and culturally. By analyzing idioms, the article reveals the unique cultural insights embedded in both languages. It explores why idioms vary between Uzbek and English and what these differences can tell about each culture’s history and social norms. In analyzing linguistic and cultural theories, this paper connects the language with culture, helping us to understand how words reflect cultural identities. Overall, the article sheds light on the cultural richness of idiomatic language in Uzbek and English.

This article provides an overview of the three main processes of word formation in modern English: derivation, compounding, and borrowing. Derivation is the process of creating a new word from an existing word by adding a prefix or suffix. Compounding is the process of combining two or more existing words to create a new word. Borrowing is the process of taking a word from another language and adding it to the English lexicon.

The article focuses on the importance of developing listening strategies for students to enhance their listening skills and succeed in various listening tasks. The study examines metacognitive, cognitive, and compensatory strategies utilized by learners and teachers, emphasizing the role of planning, preparation, and reflection in the listening process. The article also discusses the significance of activating prior knowledge, visualization techniques, note-taking, and utilizing knowledge of other languages to aid in understanding and constructing meaning from audio messages. The implementation of these strategies at different stages of learning is essential for empowering students to take control of their learning and enhance their overall listening skills.

The purpose of this article is to prove by generalizing our own experience the expediency of using WebQuests in teaching English at universities. The article is an attempt to analyze an extremely promising trend in the methodology of teaching English in the modern computer world, which requires solving problems at all levels of education and makes it necessary to use Web resources. Given the problems outlined above, we have the opportunity to describe our experience in creating WebQuests. It is noted that the results of the quests, depending on the material being studied, can take many different forms.  The article describes the process of creating a WebQuest template in some detail. In addition, the teacher needs to rely on the individual characteristics of students.
