INTRОDUСTIОN
Today, it is very important to teach classical music to the younger generation and promote it
using modern technologies. It is our moral duty to preserve this rich heritage of our people and
pass it on to future generations.
Our national maqoms emdiv the ancient history, spiritual world, artistic philosophy, and spirit
of our people. Therefore, for centuries, maqom has been revered as an invaluable cultural
heritage. Classical music has occupied a special place in the centuries-old spiritual and cultural
life of our people and has been an important tool in preserving and developing national identity.
This musical heritage is not only a vivid expression of national values, but also inextricably
linked with universal values. Its importance and content are reflected in the following main
aspects. Uzbek classical music was formed on the basis of maqom art. Shashmaqom, Khorezm
maqom and Fergana-Tashkent maqom routes reflect the history, traditions and spiritual
experiences of our people. Through maqoms, not only musical melodies are expressed, but also
the life, sorrows, joys and dreams of the people. Musical instruments such as doira, dutar, tanbur,
rubab, chang are an integral part of Uzbek classical music. These instruments, with their unique
timbre and melody, ensure the uniqueness of national music.
MАTЕRIАLS АND MЕTHОDS
Classical music promotes national values, beauty and goodness. In particular, melodies and
songs created based on the poems of Alisher Navoi, Lutfi and other great poets enrich the human
psyche, call on the younger generation to patriotism, goodness and morality. Classical music
promotes not only national, but also universal spiritual values. Purifying the human soul, giving
it peace of mind and forming spiritual harmony are among the main tasks of classical music.
This aspect once again proves that music is a universal language. The highest goals set by the
institute team are to prepare young personnel who have mastered the knowledge and concepts of
the art of maqom, historical and national traditions, and to introduce modern pedagogical and
innovative technologies, advanced scientific achievements in the field of culture and art into the
educational process. Our classical music has developed in harmony with the musical heritage of
other peoples. For example, the art of maqom, along with other musical movements in the East,
is close to the principles of European classical music. This serves to develop intercultural

dialogue and cooperation. Classical music provides performers and composers with creative
freedom. The performer's personal interpretation and feelings reveal new facets of a musical
work. This principle expresses universal values such as appreciation of human freedom
and creativity. Uzbek classical music, in particular the art of Shashmaqom, is included in the
UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This confirms its not only national, but also
universal significance. Shashmaqom is performed at international conferences and has become
an integral part of the treasury of world culture. In the process of globalization, classical music
has become an important factor in preserving national identity. It unites the nation, strengthens
cultural identity, and develops cultural ties with other peoples.
RЕSULTS АND DISСUSSIОN
The art of maqom is an integral part of Uzbek classical music, which has preserved its rich
historical heritage and originality. This art form not only reflects the culture and spirituality of
the Uzbek people, but also symbolizes its connection with universal values [1]. The role of
national and universal values in the development and spread of maqom art is of great
importance, because these values enhance not only the aesthetic, but also the
educational, spiritual and moral impact of music. The art of maqom has its deep national roots
and reflects the historical, cultural and religious heritage of the Uzbek people. Maqoms mainly
emdiv the inner world of the people, their values, traditions and philosophy of life. This art is
not only an aesthetic manifestation of music, but also expresses the logical and spiritual system
of the people, their way of perceiving and understanding the world. Therefore, the development
and transmission of maqom art to generations, the preservation of national values, and the
upbringing of young people with love for national culture play a major role.
The connection of maqom art with national values is demonstrated by the performers and
composers working on it. Maqoms emdiv the spirit of the people, their vital values, and many
traditional values. As a result, maqom art becomes not only a means of expressing music, but
also an entire culture. For example, through the performance of maqom, the vital value of a
person, his connection with nature and society is shown.
Maqom art is not only a part of Uzbek national culture, but also closely related to universal
values. The recognition of maqom art by UNESCO in 2003 as the “Intangible Heritage of
Humanity” emphasizes its place in world culture. This art is considered the musical heritage not
only of the Uzbek people, but also of all mankind. The art of maqom plays an important role in
modern society, as well as in intercultural dialogue. It serves to develop intercultural
understanding and communication, to strengthen kindness and solidarity between people [2].
Universal values, especially principles such as peace, freedom, human rights and justice, are
reflected in the art of maqom. The poetic and musical composition of maqoms, their themes, in
many works are associated with the inner world of man, his spiritual quest and philosophical
views. Also, through the performance of maqom art, an opportunity arises to understand and
appreciate the universal language of music around the world. This contributes to the
development of intercultural dialogue and cooperation.
There is a deep and inextricable connection between the art of maqom, national values and
universal culture. The art of maqom should be valued not only as the historical heritage of the
Uzbek people, but also as an integral part of the cultural treasure of all mankind. It is important
to develop this art, teach it to the new generation and widely promote it through modern means,
preserve and respect national and universal values. Through the art of maqom, we not only
preserve our national culture, but also contribute to the development of universal values [3].
Analyzing and studying in detail the aspects of our classical musical heritage related to national
and universal values serves to study and introduce to the world our classical musical
heritage, especially the art of maqom, which, with its rich history and cultural value, is an
integral part of not only the Uzbek people, but also the culture of the whole world. Studying the
aspects of this heritage related to national and universal values leads to great efficiency in
