I

NTRODUCTION

Across various fields the mass media channels, including television, radio, online platforms, and social media has significantly
expanded the reach and impact of information dissemination to public. As a result , the demand for skilled interpreters who can
accurately and professionally convey messages presented through these diverse media platforms has grown day by day.
Consecutive interpreting has a lot of challenges for interpreter due to need of speaking after the speaker has finished delivering a
segment of speech , and also plays a crucial role in understanding cross-cultural communication and knowing the realm of mass
media.

In an age where ‘evidence-based’ is a buzzword , we need to explain the basis for our recommendations. Interpreting is a

complex activity, and interpreter training still more so. As is often repeated in the literature, comparative empirical evaluation of
the effectiveness of different training methods is complicated by practical difficulties such as tiny samples, high individual
variability and the elusive and ephemeral nature of live performance data, not to mention the lack of statistics on student outcomes.
We must therefore still rely largely on experience, supplemented with what we know from research on language, cognition, human
communication, education or sociology[Robin Setton,4].

In the globalized world mass media serves as a powerful platform for delivering information, shaping public opinions, and

influencing decision-making. Mass media effectiveness depends on the ability to convey messages accurathy and authentically
across language barriers. Thats why consecutive interpreting has great role in ensuring that presented content in different fields is
understood by audience around the world. Beginning from political speeches to corporate announcementbto scientific discoveries
interpreters are tasked with bringing the gap between different languages and cultures to facilitate effective communication.
Interpreters face a lot of challenges. These difficulties are: linguistic complexities, cultural nuances, rapid speech delivery and
technical jargon specific to different fields. To overcome these chalaenges interpreters use some strategies, such as note-
taking, paraphrasing and adapting their language register to suit the target audience. In the dynamic environment of mass media for
being successful consecutive interpreter ,they need effective communication skills, cultural awareness, and subject matter
expertise. " Media literacy promotes the critical thinking skills that enable people to make independent choices with regard to 1)
which media programming to select and 2) how to interpret the information they receive through the channels of mass
communication[ Art Silverblatt,4]".

Fields which need to be translated for consecutive interpreting are lot. Consecutive interpreting is essential in the realm of

politics,as they convey the messages of world leaders, diplomats , and politicans to global audience by mass media. For doing it
accuretely and convey the right meaning interpreter's must possess a deep understanding of political technology, cultural
sensitivity, and cultural beliefs. In the fields of science, consecutive
interpreting is critical for sharing research, finding breakthroughs and innovation with whole world. Interpreters must have strong
background in scientific terminology technical concepts, and research methodologies. When it comes to Interpreting cultural
nuances in the media, translator should know ensuring that cultural meanings and subtleties are not lost in translation. Consecutive
interpreting in twrms of culture serves as a gateway to understand different cultures viewpoints and perspectives. By presenting
diverse cultures perspectives through interpretation mass media plays an important role in promoting cultural exchange and

fostering a more interconnected and inclusive society. The field of economics is a complex and dynamic one. Mass media serves as
a powerful strength for disseminating economic information and analysis to a wide audience. From news broadcast to financial
reports, media outlets play a big role in presenting economic data trends , and politics to the public. Ina world where economic
decisions can have far-reaching consequences the role of economics consecutive interpreting in mass media cannot be overstated.
By accuretely conveying economic information and analysis, interpreters help to shape public discourse on economic matters.

C

ONCLUSION

Unlike the conference interpreter then, the media interpreter has to be in a position to tackle any subject and any speaker , any
dialect, and socialect, and any idiolect, at any time. Except that his competence must go far beyond that since, ideally , he is
expected to be a consummate mediator, with the psychomotor reflexes of the conference interpreter, the culture sensitivity of the
community interpreter, the analytical keenness and background knowledge of the journalist, and the rhetorical prowness of the
seasoned communicator[Yves Gambier, Henrik Gottlreb-30]..
