INNOVATIVE METHODS IN SPECIAL PEDAGOGY: MODERN
APPROACHES AND PRACTICE

Annotation
: This article analyzes innovative methods used in the field of
special pedagogy, their content and effectiveness. Today, an individual approach,
the use of digital technologies, and the creation of an inclusive educational
environment are becoming important factors in the education and upbringing of
children with disabilities. The article considers the practical application of
modern pedagogical methods, such as gamification, project-based learning,
sensor-integrative approach, and AR/VR technologies, based on foreign and
national experience. The impact of innovative methods on the quality of
education and social adaptation of students with special needs is also analyzed.

Introduction
.
One of the most important tasks facing the education system today is to
create a full-fledged, effective and humane educational environment for children
with disabilities. The reforms being carried out in the field of special pedagogy,
especially with the introduction of new technologies, digital tools and innovative
methods, are reaching a new level. Because in the modern era, every child -
regardless of their needs - deserves an educational environment where they can
fully demonstrate their potential. Traditional methods are no longer enough
today. The fact that each child has different interests, learning styles, physical
and psychological needs requires a new perspective and an unconventional
approach from the teacher. From this point of view, innovative methods -
gamification, project-based learning, sensor integration, AR/VR technologies -
not only increase the effectiveness of education, but also form self-confidence
and social activity in children.
Innovations in special pedagogy are not just technical tools, but also a
means of finding a way to the hearts of children, understanding their inner
world and finding a common language with them. In this regard, the pedagogue

is not a teacher, but a guide, inspirer and supporter. The article discusses such
modern, innovative approaches and their effectiveness in practice.
Methodology
:
The effectiveness of scientific research depends, first of all, on the chosen
methodological approach. In such a delicate and complex field as special
pedagogy, the methodology becomes not only a theoretical basis, but also a tool
that determines the practical direction. This study deeply studied the content of
innovative methods and their effectiveness in working with children with
special needs. The selected approaches made it possible to analyze the situation
not only externally, but also internally. Complex methods were used in the
research process. First, foreign and national literature on modern innovative
methods was studied on the basis of scientific and theoretical analysis. This
created an opportunity to understand the essence of innovations and their place
in the pedagogical process. Second, through practical observation and
experimental analysis, lesson processes in which innovative methods were used
were analyzed. This clarified the connection between theoretical views and
practical results.
In addition, the opinions of teachers, defectologists and speech therapists in
special schools and centers were studied through questionnaires, interviews and
diagnostic tests. Based on their real experience, it was determined how
innovative methods are perceived, what results they give, what problems are
observed. Also, using the comparative analysis approach, the effectiveness of
various methods was compared and the most suitable approaches were
identified. These methodological approaches not only made it possible to draw
scientifically based conclusions, but also served as a solid basis for the
implementation of new methods in special pedagogical practice. Each method
and technique was carefully studied, which created the basis for developing
practical recommendations for specialists working in this field.
Literature analysis:
A number of foreign and national sources were analyzed to deeply cover
the issue of innovative methods in special pedagogy. As a result of the analysis, it
was proven that innovations play a very important role in the modern
educational process, especially in working with children with disabilities. This
literature covers the theoretical foundations of innovative approaches, various
methods, technologies and their effectiveness in pedagogical practice.
In particular, the works of scientists such as G. S. Kozlova and I. A. Mamayev
discuss individual approaches and adaptive educational systems in special

pedagogy. In their research, they consider the use of modern tools in
defectological processes, especially the role of ICT technologies in activating
students' learning activities.
From foreign literature, D. Mitchell's work “Special Educational Needs and
Inclusive Education” deeply covers global approaches to children with special
needs, innovative pedagogy and inclusive methods. He emphasizes that
innovative methods are not only technologies, but also an important tool for
developing human relations between teachers and students, socio-emotional
skills.
As another important source, the works of E. F. Sabzi and R. Kadyrov on the
formation of professional competencies in special pedagogy were analyzed. In
their research, the level of readiness of teachers for innovative methods and the
effectiveness of these methods in practice play an important role.
Also, the resolutions and decrees of the President of the Republic of
Uzbekistan on “Guaranteeing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, the
Inclusive Education Program for 2021–2025 were analyzed as important
documents in highlighting state policy and national approaches in this area. The
analyzed sources show that innovative methods in special pedagogy serve not
only to introduce new forms of education, but also to radically change the entire
educational environment, pedagogical approaches, curricula and the role of the
teacher. Therefore, the use of scientifically based methodological approaches,
combining national and international experience, is becoming a necessity today.
Discussion
:
As the demands placed on the educational process in modern society
become increasingly complex, the need for new approaches and innovative
methods in the field of special pedagogy is also growing sharply. The studied
literature, practical observations and experience analysis have shown that
today, working with children with disabilities cannot be limited to traditional
methods. Innovations are a source of new opportunities, a new spirit and new
motivation.
The use of gamification, project-based learning, digital technologies, and
AR/VR tools more actively involve students in the learning process, increasing
their interest in learning. For example, children with special needs may have a
low level of concentration, but practical experiments have proven that these
problems can be alleviated through interactive lessons, visual and audio
materials. In addition, through sensor-integrative methods, the child's motor,
emotional and cognitive activities develop harmoniously.

The level of preparation of teachers for innovations was also indicated as an
important factor. Although during the experiment some teachers were afraid to
use new methods, after they were given methodological support and practical
recommendations, their confidence increased and the effectiveness of the lesson
increased significantly. This means that the mastery of innovative methods
allows not only students, but also teachers to develop. Another important aspect
that causes discussion is the need for an individual approach to each child.
Innovative methods provide the opportunity for this very personalization. Each
child is unique, with different needs, interests and attitudes towards learning.
Therefore, the combined use of methods, that is, a multimodal approach, allows
for even higher results. Innovative methods in special pedagogy are not just new
tools, but also a pedagogical culture that seeks to think in a new way, see in a
new way and find a way to the heart of each child. With a deep understanding of
this approach, the special education process can be organized not only
effectively, but also in a humane and motivationally enriched way.
Conclusion
.
One of the most urgent tasks facing the education system today is to create
full-fledged, equal and modern educational opportunities for children with
disabilities. The successful implementation of this task, of course, requires the
introduction of innovative pedagogical methods and technologies. As the
research revealed, innovative approaches not only increase the quality and
efficiency of education, but also form students' social activity, self-confidence,
and independent thinking.
Gamification, project-based learning, interactive technologies, AR/VR tools
and other modern methods are giving excellent results in working with children
with disabilities. Through these methods, children begin to feel like full
members of society, their inner potential is revealed, and their desire to learn
increases. At the same time, teachers themselves are encouraged to think in new
ways and creatively explore. One of the important aspects here is that innovative
methods never negate traditional methods. On the contrary, they complement
them, reformulating them based on the requirements of the time. These
approaches are especially relevant in special pedagogy, because each child has
his own needs, opportunities and level of development. Innovations are the most
effective way to respect these differences and ensure individual development.
In conclusion,
the use of innovative methods in special pedagogy is not just a
technological innovation, but a new level of culture of humanity, kindness,
understanding and support. When each teacher consciously and purposefully

applies modern approaches in his work, he not only gives knowledge, but also
instills hope in hearts and faith in the future. And an education system armed
with this spirit and principle undoubtedly creates the foundation of a stable and
just society.
