Language plays an important role in understanding culture, as it is not only a means of
communication, but also the basis for transmitting national values, traditions, and customs.
Through language, people express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, as well as preserve
and transmit the cultural heritage of society to new generations. Language is not just a collection
of words, but it reflects the worldview and lifestyle of a particular nation. Each language is
enriched with its own metaphors, idioms, and cultural references, through which the values and
traditions embedded in the system are manifested. Through language, it is possible to understand
national values. For example, certain expressions or phrases can reflect the historical experience
of a nation. For example, the phrase “Ota-bobolarimizdan meros” expresses the Uzbek people’s
respect for their ancestors. Traditions are practices or rituals passed down from generation to
generation. Customs, on the other hand, encompass social rules that have evolved at different
times in society. Many of them are expressed through language: for example, songs or legends
sung during holidays. In a cultural context, language is not only a means of expressing meaning;
it also shapes how people think.
The role of language in the process of translation and interpretation is extremely
important. In the process of translation, we need to consider not only words, but also context,
logic, and meaning in order to convey the author’s thoughts and content to another language.
Each word or sentence has its own context, and its meaning may vary in other languages.
Translators need to understand and preserve this context. Each language is associated with its
own culture. Translators should have the intercultural knowledge necessary for correct
translation, taking into account cultural differences. It is important to understand other people’s
cultures during the process of intercultural communication. This requires respect for the
differences between different people. The ability to perceive other cultures is one of the main
aspects of intercultural communication. When interacting with others, it must be unreasonable.
Language as an important tool for combining cultures plays an important role in
enhancing the development and cooperation of communication among people. Through language,
people express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Knowledge of the language increases
the possibility of communication with representatives of other cultures, and this improves mutual
understanding between different peoples. Cultures are connected with each other through
language. Language helps to understand the traditions, values and customs of other cultures.
This leads to cultural exchange and eliminates obstacles between peoples. Furthermore, knowing
the language allows people to work together effectively with each other. This may be important
in the implementation of business, scientific research, or social projects. Furthermore, language
learning is an important component of the educational process. The possibility of learning in a
variety of languages helps students gain expanded knowledge and become more competitive on a
global scale.
The role of language in intercultural communication is invaluable. Language is not only a
means of information exchange, but also an important factor in bringing cultures closer together.
During this study, it was shown that cultural values, traditions, and customs are transmitted
through language, which deepens communication between people. In the process of intercultural
communication, the roles of language must be taken into account in many ways. Firstly,
vocabulary and grammatical rules are important for ensuring correct understanding between
people speaking different languages. Secondly, the clear and correct transmission of feelings and
intentions expressed through language helps to eliminate cultural differences.
