INTRODUCTION

Strengthening students' speaking skills is a critical component of English language

skills. Their findings suggest that TED Talks serve as an authentic resource in English
language education, particularly in teaching pronunciation and effective public speaking.

Traditional language teaching methods often prioritize memorization of grammar and

Developing speaking skills requires the implementation of various techniques designed

to enhance fluency, clarity, and confidence in oral communication. TED Talks, a platform
for sharing ideas globally, have gained widespread recognition for their educational

content. Broadcast primarily on YouTube, TED Talks provide an engaging and practical
way for learners to observe and practice essential speaking techniques. In a typical TED

Talk, speakers establish an emotional connection with the audience (Aravind &
Rajasekaran, 2019), inspiring listeners while presenting ideas and activities worth

spreading.

For English as a foreign language (EFL) learners, platforms like TED Talks offer a

comprehension, but also improve their vocabulary, fluency, and pronunciation. In

addition, TED talks provide role models for effective public speaking and help students
develop confidence, organization, and persuasive techniques. Interactive discussions and

presentations inspired by these lectures foster critical thinking and encourage students
to express themselves clearly, resulting in the development of a variety of speaking skills.

TED talks can be understood by listening to talks given by native English speakers.
