AGH in Krakow is one of the most prestigious technical universities in Poland. It has been
attracting students from all over the world for years who want to gain education at the highest level.
Therefore, the education of foreigners at AGH is a very important element of the university's
functioning.
AGH offers a wide range of educational programs for foreigners. The most important of
these is the English-language study program, which includes many fields of study, such as
Petroleum Engineering and many others. This program was created to provide an international
group of students with the opportunity to gain education at AGH in Krakow. As part of the
program, students learn in English, which allows them to have better job prospects and also to
improve their language skills. In Petroleum Engineering, they learn about issues related to
exploration and drilling of production wells, extraction of oil and natural gas using secondary and
tertiary methods, construction of energy storage facilities (oil, natural gas (including LNG),
hydrogen). They also learn about the construction of gas infrastructure and hydrocarbon
transmission systems.
In addition to the English-language study program, AGH also offers student exchange
programs. Thanks to them, students from other universities can come to AGH for a few months to
gain new academic experiences and get to know the Polish culture. These programs are often
organized in cooperation with other foreign universities, which allows for establishing new contacts
and cooperation between universities. The aim of educational programs for foreigners is primarily
to provide an international group of students with the highest quality education. As a result, students
have the opportunity to develop their professional skills, but also to broaden their cultural horizons.
These programs focus on teaching in English (several subjects are taught in Russian), which allows
for free movement in the academic environment and development of language skills. As part of the
educational programs for foreigners, AGH focuses on innovation and modernity. All programs are
created with future job market needs and technological trends and challenges in mind.
Foreign and Polish students can benefit from an innovative tool called the University
Elective Course Database (UBPO). It allows students to choose courses within their field of study.
The course selection system works electronically and is available to all AGH students. Each student
has his own individual panel where he can choose courses and register for them. Through UBPO,
students can choose courses from different fields that are in line with the profile of their major. The
choice of courses depends on the study plan of the major and the number of ECTS points that the
student must collect during their education. UBPO allows students to freely choose courses that suit
their interests and develop their skills. As a result, education becomes more effective and efficient
because students can focus on topics that interest them and in which they want to specialize. They
can also gain knowledge in fields that are not directly related to their major, which helps broaden
their horizons and gain new perspectives. This approach also makes it easier to plan a career.
Dual studies at AGH in Krakow are an innovative program that allows students to combine
theoretical knowledge gained at the university with practical experience in companies. As part of
the dual study program, students are provided with academic supervision and mentors from the
university and companies. Students must meet the requirements set by the university and companies
in terms of academic performance and work in the company. After completing the dual study
program, students receive a diploma from AGH and a certificate from the company where they
completed their internship. The dual study program at AGH brings many benefits to students.
Firstly, it allows them to gain practical professional experience, which is an advantage on the job
market. Students participating in the dual study program have the opportunity to gain practical skills

and establish contacts with entrepreneurs. This enables them to combine theoretical knowledge
gained at the university with practical experience in companies, and thus have the opportunity to
acquire knowledge and skills that are essential in their future professional work. Dual studies allow
students to learn about real problems and challenges that entrepreneurs face.
Another innovative solution is the double degree program, which allows students to obtain
two diplomas - one from AGH and another from a foreign university. Under the double degree
program, it is possible to study for a certain period of time at a foreign university with which AGH
has a cooperation agreement. After completing the required study program at the foreign university,
students receive diplomas from both universities - AGH and the foreign university. This allows
students to expand their knowledge and skills, gain new experiences, and gain valuable contacts on
the international stage. The double degree program allows students to study at foreign universities,
which often offer unique study programs and specializations. This program facilitates finding a job
on the international stage.

Abstract:
Since the Erasmus+ international credit mobility (ICM) program is, in most cases,
popular enough among bachelor’s and master’s students, this paper mainly focuses on the exchange
of doctoral students and Erasmus+ ICM contribution to the students’ research careers.
Annotatsiya:
Ko'p hollarda Erasmus+ xalqaro kredit mobilligi (ICM) dasturi bakalavr hamda
magistratura talabalari o'rtasida mashhur bo'lganligi tufayli ushbu maqola asosan doktorant talabalar
almashinuvi va Erasmus+ ICM ning ularning ilmiy karyeralariga qo'shadigan hissalariga qaratilgan.
Background
Erasmus+ ICM projects
facilitates the movement of employees and students from higher
education institutions internationally and supports their professional development in their studies
and workplace. Apart from that, participating individuals can take an advantage of a deeper
understanding of other cultures and education systems. Moreover, it allows to become more
competitive in the labour market. According to the Erasmus impact study, for instance, after five
years of graduation, the students who participated in Erasmus ICM accounted for a 23% lower
unemployment rate than those who were not involved in the programme.
Uzbekistan as a developing country has been actively taking part in the Erasmus+ ICM
programme exchanging its bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students.
One of the successful
participation in this project arose between the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and the
university of Cantabria exchanging doctoral students.
