Teaching tourism terminology in higher education institutions is one of the important aspects
of the rapidly developing tourism industry today. Tourism is not only a source of economic growth
and development, but also at the center of cultural and social exchange. Therefore, introducing
students to the basic concepts and terminology in the field of tourism plays an important role in
forming the necessary knowledge for their future professional activities. Tourism terminology
covers its various aspects, service standards, customer relations and marketing strategies. These
terms allow students to acquire not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills. The terms
taught in higher education institutions help students understand the main processes of tourism and
prepare them to work professionally in this field. The process of teaching tourism terminology
includes introducing students to global tourism trends, tourism services and their management.
Students learn about research and innovations conducted worldwide in the field of tourism. This
broadens their horizons and enables them to become internationally competitive professionals. The
process of teaching tourism terminology also encourages students to work in teams, solve
problems, and think innovatively. Courses taught in higher education institutions encourage
students to exchange ideas, share experiences, and knowledge. This helps them to be successful in
their future careers. In general, teaching tourism terminology in higher education institutions
provides students with not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills. This process lays
the foundation for their future professional success and increases the opportunity to apply
innovative approaches in the tourism sector. Thus, teaching tourism terminology is important in
preparing students as modern and competitive professionals.
LITERATURE ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The scaffolding method is known as a method of gradually assisting students in mastering
complex knowledge in the educational process. The use of this method in teaching tourism-related
terms in higher education institutions makes the learning process more effective and interesting.
A number of studies have been conducted in Uzbekistan on the study and application of this
method. A. Abdulazizov's research discusses innovative methods in higher education, including
the scaffolding method. A.Abdulazizov emphasizes that using this method can encourage students
to self-study and facilitate the process of mastering complex terms. He shows how the scaffolding
method can be used in teaching tourism-related terms.[1, 22-23-s.] Tashpulatov's article discusses
pedagogical approaches to teaching terms in the field of tourism. I. Tashpulatov analyzes how the
scaffolding method can be used in teaching terms. It proposes to facilitate the process of
consolidation and assimilation of knowledge by teaching complex terms to students step by
step.[2, 110-113-s.]
In particular, N. Saidova in her research analyzes the current state and problems of tourism
education in Uzbekistan. She shows the possibilities of improving the quality of education and
preparing students for professional development by introducing the scaffolding method.[3, 11-14-
s.]
B.Kadyrov’s scientific works provide information on how the scaffolding method is used in
the educational process and its effectiveness. B. Kadyrov emphasizes the usefulness of this method
in teaching tourism-related terms and shows the importance of helping students master complex
knowledge.[4, 74-76-s.]
M. Yusupov's research discusses various methods for improving the educational process,
including the scaffolding method. He shows the importance of this method in motivating students
to think independently and self-study.[5, 7-8-s.]
The use of the scaffolding method in teaching tourism terminology allows students to be
provided not only with theoretical knowledge, but also with practical skills. The scaffolding

method should be considered an effective approach to teaching tourism terminology in higher
education institutions. Studies by Uzbek authors show that this method is of great importance in
improving the educational process and preparing students for professional development. The use
of the scaffolding method in teaching tourism terminology allows students to be provided not only
with theoretical knowledge, but also with practical skills. This will help them to be successful in
their future work.
DISCUSSION AND RESULTS
Scaffolding is a pedagogical approach designed to help students acquire new knowledge. This
method allows students to gradually learn new information based on their previous knowledge.
When teaching tourism terminology, the use of scaffolding makes it easier for students to
understand complex concepts and to apply them in practice. When teaching tourism terminology
in higher education institutions, it is important to establish effective communication with students.
The teacher should further enliven the learning process by developing interaction with students,
listening to their opinions and asking them questions. In this process, it is necessary to create a
comfortable environment for students to express their thoughts freely. By using the scaffolding
method, the teacher encourages students to express their thoughts and helps them exchange ideas
with each other. When teaching tourism terminology, the teacher should first discuss the main
concepts with students and enrich them with practical examples. For example, when teaching key
terms such as "tourism", "ecotourism", "cultural tourism", the teacher should explain the meaning,
importance and practical application of each term. In this process, the teacher can provide students
with additional resources, articles or video materials so that they can assimilate new information
based on their previous knowledge. It is also important to organize interactive activities for
students when teaching tourism terms. For example, in the works of Yu. Kholmatov, it is noted
that through group discussions, role-playing games or simulations, students have the opportunity
to apply their knowledge in practice, and by using the scaffolding method, the teacher involves
students in these activities, helping them to exchange ideas and acquire new knowledge.[6, 117-
120-s.]
The teacher can use various assessment methods to consolidate the terms learned by
students. For example, through tests, essays or project work, students can demonstrate their
knowledge. In this process, the teacher should provide additional support for students and help
correct their mistakes. The scaffolding method plays an important role in students consolidating
their knowledge and acquiring new information. In addition, when teaching tourism terms, the
teacher should encourage students to learn independently. In this process, students can seek out
additional resources to study topics they are interested in and expand their knowledge. By using
the scaffolding method, the teacher encourages students to learn independently and provides them
with the necessary resources. In the process of teaching tourism-related terms in higher education
institutions, it is important for the teacher to be in constant contact with students and respond to
their changing needs.
An individual approach to each student, the creation of opportunities for education in
accordance with their specific abilities and interests, the use of the scaffolding method, the
development of customized curricula for students and their successful training are presented in the
works of A. Muratov [7, 119-120-s.].
In general, the scaffolding method is an effective tool for teaching tourism-related terms in
higher education institutions. This method provides students with the opportunity to simplify
complex concepts, apply them in practice, and consolidate their knowledge. Using this method,
teachers should establish effective communication with students, organize interactive activities,

and encourage independent learning. As a result, students will have the opportunity to deeply
master tourism terms and apply their knowledge in practice.
It is also important to use modern technologies in teaching tourism terminology. Teachers can
create interesting and interactive educational materials for students using online platforms, mobile
applications or multimedia tools. In this process, students will have the opportunity to use modern
technologies to consolidate their knowledge and master new information. At the same time, it is
also important to develop cooperation between teachers and students when teaching tourism
terminology. R. Isroilov, Z. Abdullayeva[8, 75-79-s.] note that teachers should organize various
projects, events or seminars together with students to make the learning process more effective,
and in the process, create a favorable environment for students to freely express their opinions and
exchange experiences.
D. Kadirova[10, 22-24-s.] noted that in improving the methodology of teaching tourism terms
in higher education institutions, it is important for teachers to constantly update their knowledge
and master modern pedagogical approaches. In this process, teachers should also share their
experience with others and apply new ideas to their teaching processes.
By using the scaffolding method, teachers have the opportunity to create a more effective and
engaging learning process for students.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the scaffolding method plays an important role in improving the process of teaching
tourism terminology in higher education institutions. This method provides students with the
opportunity to simplify complex concepts, apply them in practice, and consolidate their
knowledge. By using this method, teachers should establish effective communication with
students, organize interactive activities, and encourage independent learning. As a result, students
will have the opportunity to deeply master tourism terminology and apply their knowledge in
practice.
