The principles of the methodology of teaching English have been developed as
follows: general (speech orientation, limited and integrated teaching, solving exercises,
taking into account language experience), specific (teaching English using a speech
model, the connection between language exercises and speech practice, the
interrelationship of types of speech activity, the advancement of oral speech,

approaching natural speech in a foreign language, further improving the elementary
stage), and special (teaching grammar, teaching vocabulary, teaching reading, and
using speech writing in teaching English). In summarizing the pedagogical principles,
we have taken into account a communicative approach to teaching foreign languages
in primary education.
At this point, several methods are currently being used in the teaching process.
For example:
1. "B-B-B" (WE KNOW-WE WANT TO KNOW-WE KNOW) This method
helps students to better understand and analyze English texts helps to strengthen.
2. "QUICK ANSWERS" is a quick question and answer session. In this session,
the teacher asks students questions about the lesson. This method helps to increase the
speed of students' attention.
3. "PANTOMIMA" In this method, one student shows a gesture using new
words, and the rest of the students have to guess which word it is. This method is to
ask the students for the newly given vocabulary in a new way so that they do not get
bored. Therefore, each of the above methods has its own usefulness for the teaching
process.
The following innovative methods can be used to teach English to primary
school students in a meaningful and interesting way:
Visual memory. It is known that young children remember objects they see more
than information they hear. Therefore, the lesson should be taught through various
visual aids, posters, and by writing on objects that are visible and often used in
everyday life, teaching new words and making sentences with the new words learned.
For example, writing on books, tables, blackboards, pens, windows, etc. Since such
objects that are often used in everyday life are constantly in sight and are constantly
used, the child learns these words involuntarily. Singing words that are difficult to
understand or remember through songs and poems. This not only helps children
remember new words, but also develops their oral language. For example, it can be
shown that children can learn the English alphabet by singing songs, which is more
effective than just memorizing them.Learning through fun games; The role of teaching
through various games in teaching English is invaluable. Playing various games during
the lesson increases the enthusiasm for learning the subject in the classroom, and
encourages even inactive students to participate better in the lessons. The following
games can be used as an example.Merry Riddles Teaching students riddles is an
important part of teaching English, as they learn unfamiliar words and find the answer
to the riddle.
Mixed technique is where we can combine different techniques at will. For
example, children can play games, sing songs, draw pictures, and demonstrate new
words through different actions. The advantage of the technique is diversity. In this

case, the student is not limited to just one thing. Teaching through cartoons. It is known
that children are interested in watching various cartoons. While watching English
cartoons, even if they do not understand the words in the cartoon, they try to understand
the words used by the cartoon characters through their actions. This is an interesting
and effective way for children to learn the language. The communicative approach is
one of the most popular methods of teaching English. This method allows students to
communicate in real-life situations. Students develop language skills by participating
in conversations, exchanging ideas, and solving problems. Through this approach,
students not only learn grammar and vocabulary, but also learn how to apply them in
practice. In the task-based teaching method, students learn the language by completing
specific tasks. This method includes project work, group discussions, and creative
assignments. Students gain practical experience and are able to use the language more
effectively. This approach develops students' independent thinking skills. The audio-
linguistic method is based on listening and repetition in language learning. Students
hear speech and repeat it, which is effective in improving pronunciation and acquiring
the language naturally. This method is more focused on developing listening skills. In
the game-based learning method, the learning process is carried out through game
elements. With the help of games, students show more interest and motivation in
mastering the language. This method is also useful in developing social skills, as
students communicate with each other. Visual materials (pictures, diagrams, videos)
can make the process of learning English more interesting and effective. Students
remember information better by seeing it and it becomes easier for them to understand.
This approach is based on visual learning and benefits many students. Interactive
teaching methods are implemented using technology. With the help of online
platforms, mobile applications and other interactive tools, students can learn the
language independently. This approach increases motivation and maintains students'
interest. The grammar-translation method is a traditional approach that focuses mainly
on learning grammatical rules. In this method, students learn the language by
translating texts. However, this method is less commonly used in modern education, as
it is effective only in developing writing skills. The methods used in teaching English
are diverse, and each has its own advantages. It is important for teachers to combine
these methods and choose an approach that suits the needs and abilities of students. For
an effective learning process, it is recommended to use communicative approaches,
practical tasks and interactive elements. This will help students to better understand
not only the English language, but also its culture.
