As long as a person lives, he leaves a mark in a figurative sense. A great spiritual and creative

legacy was left behind by Odil Yakubov. On the one hand, this legacy serves to raise the prestige

of Uzbek literature, on the other hand, it is important to enrich the spiritual image of not only the

youth of his time, but also the future generation, as well as to form feelings of humanity, piety,

dignity and true love. The writer himself lived with these invaluable feelings and was able to

instill them in his works. Literary critic Qazoqboy Yuldosh writes: “The product of creativity

cannot be separated from the personality of the creator. The relationship between the creator and

the work can be likened to a tree and its fruit. Just as a fruit cannot be higher than the tree on

which it grew, a work of art cannot be higher than the level of its author”1. This idea can be

understood in the sense that, while the writer recreates the life reality he describes with his heart,

he undoubtedly infuses into his work a piece of his own "I", his personality, his past, which is

imprinted in his psyche. Consequently, in his views, thoughts, and works, the writer can infuse

not only his inner world, but also characteristic events and incidents that he has experienced into

the essence of his works, create episodic scenes, draw ideological and artistic conclusions, that is,

he can effectively use the biographical image. "A work of art - be it lyrics, prose, or drama - is

the product of the writer's creativity. It is impossible for a child not to resemble his parents.

When a work of art is interpreted and analyzed, naturally, the writer's mental state and mood are

taken into account"2 There are many life scenes associated with the personality of the writer in

the works of the writer. Almost all of Odil Yakubov's works have been warmly received by

booksellers. From short stories to large novels, they have already managed to find a place on the

bookshelves of our people, enter the category of masterpieces, and have been translated into

several languages of the world. We know Odil Yakubov well not only as a master of

prose works, but also as a just person and a people's person who does not spare his life for the

truth. In this regard, it is enough to recall his just speech at the First Congress of Deputies of the

Former Union in 1989. In the words of Shoyim Botayev, "his personal qualities, carrying the

torch of goodness that he loved and stepping onto the podium"3 was an impetus for our people to

shine today. The birth of some of his works was due to the injustices and injustices that took

place in the country under the slogan "Cotton Business". The novels “White Birds, White Birds”

and “Adolat Manzi” are the sweet fruit of these pains. The writer himself says about this:

“Justice is an extremely great human virtue and an immortal feeling. Writing about justice and

fairness is a very, very difficult task and a matter of conscience. I wrote and lived believing in

the justice and truth of my God... Let me tell you the truth, there is one and only justice in

literature, and even that, only a good work written with high talent makes the creator famous.”4

The heroes of Odil Yakubov’s works are just like him. The writer seems to have transferred his

deepest desires, intentions, and aspirations to the fate of his characters, seeking a balm for the

wounds of his heart. Let’s take the following passage from his novel “Adolat Manzi”. The main

character of the work, Lochin, writes to his mother: “I went on a journey in search of justice.

This path will be very long. Maybe it will take several years, maybe even decades, before I can

restore justice and clear my father's name... I mean, no matter what happens to me, I will clear

my father's name, I will prove that he was an honest man, I will not return without restoring

justice..." It is not difficult to sense the figure of the writer behind these lines. In both the short

stories and the long novels of the writer, it is possible to observe that a part of the writer's life is

covered, and real events are embedded in the plot of the work. The mention of Egamberdi

Jakubov in the story "Muzqaimoq" and the memories of Odiljon the younger about his father are

the fulfillment of the writer's deepest dreams. Or we can see the figure of Egamberdi Jakubov in

Mashrab's thoughts about his father in the novel "Er bashiga ish tushsa". Munaqqid Norboy

Khudaiberganov describes Odil Jakubov as a talented writer and says: "Do you say that the

writer has only put down on paper what he has experienced, seen and known? But in a work

written with talent and inspiration, does the writer omit the works he has seen and known and

express something else? No, even in such a situation, the writer uses his life knowledge, but adds

something more significant, more valuable to it, creating a discovery, a novelty that we did not

notice, did not understand. Talent is such a mysterious, magical miracle that it forces, invites,

inspires the writer, even without him noticing, to create a world that is rich, beautiful, enjoyable

for everyone, and gives an important social lesson to no one.”1 We know well from Odil

Yakubov’s biography that during the war, he went to the front at an advanced age and, having

crossed the Gobi desert on foot, took part in the war against Japan. These war scenes served as

the basis for the writer to create the stories “I am looking for” and later “Where are you, Moriko”.

These works written on the theme of war also glorify the ideas of true humanity, love and

affection, and loyalty to the homeland, which are characteristic of the writer’s work. The hero of

the story "I am looking for" is Mansur Murodov. The plot of the work is told in his own language,

in a convincing and simple language. This hero recalls the writer's youth, his memories of the

battlefield. The work is written in an autobiographical spirit and is remembered as a page of the

writer's life spent in the war. Accordingly, the reader perceives the hero of the story Mansur

Murodov in the person of Odil Yakubov. In the work, he vividly describes the crossing of the

Gobi Desert and the battlefield with great poetic skill, and was able to infect the reader with the

painful pain of war.

In the story, Mansur's warm feelings for Salomatkhan when he first saw him, his involuntary

liking for Olya Kupriyanova, even his jealousy of Davron Gaziyev and Nogayev, his hardships

in the Gobi Desert and the Khingan Mountains, Davron Gaziyev's words before his death, all the

developments and artistic images are believable and natural. The main reason for this is that the

events of the plot were not only created in the writer's imagination, but were also connected with

the realities he experienced and witnessed in real life. This, of course, helped the work to convey

the events vividly and realistically. If we see the writer's personality in the image of Mansur

Murodov as an observant, extremely curious, and at the same time naive, greedy, jealous and

hardworking person, we feel his feelings of justice and loyalty to the country in the image of

Davron Gaziyev. The writer embodied Davron Gaziyev as a representative of our brave sons

who shed their blood for the Motherland. He was a captain in the Guard. He left his family and

went to fight for the Motherland. He survived many times, having come close to death. Even

after the end of the Patriotic War, he did not return home, but went to war with Japan. Despite

being wounded several times, he did not leave the battlefield. Instead of hearing thanks for all his

services, he could not bear the fact that they wanted to file a case against him for a single

mistake (if he called it a mistake, if he did).
