The article is devoted to the actual problem of methods of teaching fine arts in primary schools. In the
course of the study, the authors consider various approaches to teaching elementary school children the
basics of drawing and painting, taking into account their age characteristics and the level of cognitive
development. Special attention is paid to the use of innovative methods, including interactive technologies
and creative approaches, in order to stimulate creative thinking and imagination of students. The article
presents empirical data confirming the effectiveness of certain techniques, as well as recommendations for
teachers and educators on optimizing the process of teaching fine arts in elementary grades. The research
has practical significance for the development of effective teaching strategies that promote the
development of students' creative potential.

Visual arts play an important role in the
development of a child's personality, contributing
to the formation of his creative thinking and
imagination. The methods of teaching fine arts in
the lower grades require special attention and
approach, taking into account the peculiarities of
the age and level of development of children. In
the lower grades, the main emphasis is on the
game teaching method. Play is a natural way for
children to learn. Various art games, drawing in
sand, clay modeling
–
all this helps children to
master the basics of fine art without creating
unnecessary tension. Teaching fine arts includes
not only the development of artistic taste, but also
the formation of fine motor skills. Drawing,
modeling, carving
–
all these activities require
coordinated hand movements, which has a
beneficial effect on brain development and
general motor skills[1]. Modern techniques
emphasize the importance of integrating fine art
with other subjects. For example, drawing can be
used to consolidate mathematical concepts, and
creating collages can be used to explore the world
around you. This approach contributes to a
deeper assimilation of knowledge.
It is important not only to teach common norms
and techniques, but also to develop the individual
creativity of each child. The support of unique
approaches and ideas helps to build confidence in
their creative abilities. In modern education, it is
difficult to do without the use of modern
technologies. The introduction of interactive
programs, digital art tools and virtual tours of
world museums helps children expand their
horizons and skills in the field of fine arts. The
methods of teaching fine arts in the lower grades
should be aimed at the comprehensive
development of the child, including his creative
abilities[2]. A balanced approach, a combination
of play, motor skills development and integration
with other subjects form the basis for successful
education in the field of fine arts at an early age.
Visual arts play an important role in the
development of a child's personality, contributing
to the formation of his creative thinking,
imagination and sense of beauty. Teaching fine
arts in the lower grades requires a special
approach that takes into account the peculiarities
of children's age, their perception of the world
and the need for self-expression. Let's look at
some effective techniques that contribute to the
successful teaching of fine arts in elementary
school.
The lower grades are characterized by high play
activity of children. The introduction of game
elements into the process of teaching fine arts
allows you to create a positive perception of the
subject and develop children's curiosity. Games
with colors, shapes and textures contribute to the
development of fine motor skills, coordination of
movements and enrich the perception of the
surrounding world. Children in the lower grades
have a rich imagination, and stimulating their
creative abilities plays a key role in the learning
process. Providing free time for creativity,
creating conditions for self-expression through
drawing or modeling, allows you to develop the
individual talents of each child.

Studying the history of fine art can be a
fascinating and informative process. For younger
students, it is important to provide information in
an accessible form, using vivid illustrations,
interesting stories and games[3]. Getting to know
great artists and their works can inspire children
to pursue their own creative pursuits. The
modern approach to learning involves the
integration of various subjects. In the case of fine
arts, this may be related to literature,
mathematics, or natural science. For example,
creating illustrations for literary works or
studying geometric shapes through drawing.
An important part of learning visual arts is
mastering various techniques. This includes
drawing, modeling, application and other types of
creativity. It is important to give children the
opportunity to experiment with different
materials and tools, while developing their
technical skills. Visual arts play an important role
in the development of a child's personality,
contributing to the formation of his creative
potential,
imagination
and
emotional
expressiveness[4]. The methodology of teaching
fine arts in the lower grades has its own
characteristics, taking into account the age
characteristics of children and aimed at
developing their artistic abilities. Let's look at
some effective techniques that help unlock the
creative potential of young artists. Children love
to play, and using games in the process of learning
fine arts allows them to immerse themselves in
the creative process with pleasure. For example,
you can offer the game "Animals from geometric
shapes", where children create their own
characters using circles, squares and triangles.
Tasks aimed at observing the world around us
and transmitting it on paper help to develop skills
of perception and attention to detail. Drawing
landscapes, still lifes or portraits based on a
pattern helps to develop observation skills and
accuracy in reproduction. Let the children
experiment with colors, shapes and textures. Give
them the freedom to choose materials and
creative methods. This approach develops
individuality and confidence in their creative
solutions[5]. Using fairy-tale plots or literary
works as a source of inspiration helps children
not only to draw, but also to get involved in the
creative process through imagination and
emotional perception. Teach children basic
artistic techniques such as strokes, lines, and
shadows. This will allow them to approach the
creation of their works more competently and
consciously and expand their artistic tools. The
organization of exhibitions of children's works
and participation in art competitions create an
incentive for creative development. It also helps
children to develop a sense of pride in their
achievements.
Combining art lessons with other subjects such as
literature, mathematics or science enriches the
creative process and broadens the horizons of
children. Methods of teaching fine arts in the
lower grades should be aimed not only at teaching
specific skills, but also at developing creative
thinking, imagination and self-expression[6]. By
supporting children in their artistic work,
teachers help them become conscious and

creative individuals who are able to see the
beauty around them and express it through their
works of art.
Visual arts play an important role in the
development of a child, forming his creative
potential, imagination and ability to express
himself. Teaching art in the lower grades is a key
stage in the formation of aesthetic perception and
artistic culture. In this article, we will consider
several techniques aimed at developing the
artistic abilities of children in elementary school.
Using the game in the process of teaching visual
arts in elementary grades helps to make lessons
exciting and interesting for children. Creating
game scenarios where children can experiment
with various materials and techniques
contributes to the development of their artistic
thinking and creative imagination.
Multisensory teaching methods include the use of
a variety of materials and tools such as paints,
pencils, clay and even natural materials. This
approach allows children to feel the differences
between textures, colors and shapes, which
contributes to the development of their
perception and artistic sensitivity. Exploring a
specific topic during a visual arts lesson helps
children develop coherent thinking. The teacher
can suggest topics related to nature, history and
culture, stimulating interest in exploring various
aspects of the world through art.
Each child is unique, and it is important to take
into account individual characteristics when
teaching fine arts. Creating conditions for free
creativity and supporting individual creative
ideas contributes to the formation of children's
confidence in their artistic abilities. Visual arts
can be successfully integrated with other subjects
such as literature, mathematics and science. The
creation of projects combining several subjects
contributes to the versatile development of
students and the formation of an integrated view
of learning. The methods of teaching fine arts in
the lower grades are aimed not only at the
development of artistic skills, but also at the
formation of creative thinking and perception of
the world through the prism of art. It is important
to maintain children's interest in creativity by
creating conditions for self-expression and the
development of their unique artistic potential.
Conclusion. The methods of teaching fine arts in
the lower grades should combine game elements,
free creativity, knowledge of the history of art and
integration with other subjects. This will allow
children not only to develop their creative
abilities, but also to perceive the world around
them with respect and understanding. And
artistic activity at an early age can become the
basis for a long-term interest in art and creativity.
