BSTRACT
This article provides general and theoretical information about phraseology, theoretical information about
phraseology of world scientists. The lexical-semantics of phraseological units with a clothing component
in the languages being compared (English and Uzbek) and the analysis of their similarities and differences
are given. Phraseological units are given similarities and differences based on the people's lifestyle, history
of origin, their universal and national values.

NTRODUCTION
In world linguistics, the problem of analyzing
phraseological units, which are part of existing
languages, on the basis of various methods such
as
descriptive,
comparative-historical,
comparison and typological, descriptive and
distributive, remains relevant. This feature of
today's linguistics is explained by the fact that the
meanings expressed by phraseological units
serve to reveal one or another side of existing
events. One of the important issues is the research
of phraseological units that reflect the national-
cultural values and traditions, which are one of

the treasures of the Uzbek and British peoples. In
world linguistics, the systematic study of the
phraseological unit layer of languages, that is, the
study of semantic, syntactic, and stylistic aspects,
is rapidly developing. A certain part of the
vocabulary of the Uzbek language is made up of
phraseological units that adapt to the laws of the
language and cover all areas of human life. A set
of words or a phrase in sentences, formed by the
combination of two or more words in several
ways, expressing a certain figurative meaning,
having verbal and emotional impact and coloring
when used in speech, the meaning of which is
equal to one word. is called In addition, the

studied.
One of the European linguists, Charles Bally, in his
"Precis de stylistique" distinguished four types of
word combinations:
1.
phraseological units (includes units that have
completely lost their meaning and have a fixed
order of components);
2.
phraseological lines (two or more units
combine to express a single meaning, but the
order of its components can be changed);
3.
usual compounds (relatively freely connected
compounds, some changes can be made to
their composition);
4.
free compounds (compounds used in their
own sense);
In his work "French Stylistics" he analyzed that
the components of free combinations and
phraseological units are regular combinations
and phraseological lines.
Phraseological associations are to some extent a
division of the semantic aspect. Phraseological
combinations are combinations of words whose
meaning has partially changed. The development
of phraseology as a separate science has gone
through several stages in the history of linguistics.
In addition to the information given above, we can
analyze the following English clothing component
phrases: if we take the phrase given by coat and
analyze it, it means different meanings in two
languages. For example: coat hanger - a device
similar to the contour of a person's shoulder and
on which clothes can be hung; car coat
–

checker, coat-check/hat check girl
–
wardrobe
employee, coat check
–
wardrobe; jacket potato -
baked potato with skin; dust jacket - a book with
a paper cover; life jacket - rescue vest; sweater
girl - means a woman with a beautiful figure. For
example: The hat came tight. Getting into an
impossible situation. Option: the cap is too tight.
To throw a hat to the sky, to throw a hat to the sky
means happiness. Cut his hat in half. Without
sadness, he was joyful and happy. Variant: to
make a fly out of a fly is a favorite method of the
police.

The above examples are among Uzbek
expressions that come with doppi headdress. In
English, it mainly comes with the names of
bowler, bonnet headwear. For example: spin

On the tip of the sleeve, inside the sleeve - not to
get serious, this phrase is antonymized as roll up
the sleeves, roll up the sleeves - earnestly,
seriously, get ready to do something, start doing
something. 7 Who (own) to grab the collar , to
catch the collar of someone (one's own) - finally
to be surprised (the second option is rarely used).
Synonym: to surprise, to surprise. Synonym: to be
surprised. To wear (one's) coat upside down. To
be obstinate without turning off. Variant: wear
the fur coat inside out (slightly used). Similar to;
put two feet in one boot; means to pull the leg (i).
In short, the phraseological units of the two
nations differ from each other. Because these two
ethnic groups differ from each other due to their
origin, way of life, their culture, customs, and
national values.
