Relevance of the problem.
Perforation of the tympanic membrane is observed in patients
with acute purulent otitis media due to the fact that they did not consult an ENT doctor in
the early stages of the disease, and in some patients, due to frequent recurrence of the
disease due to perforation of the tympanic membrane, the formation of infiltrates and
exudate with incomplete absorption can lead to the formation of cicatricial adhesions on the
mucous membrane of the tympanic cavity, the tympanic membrane, and the auditory
ossicles. As a result, the mobility of the auditory ossicles is impaired, and patients
experience varying degrees of hearing loss.
Materials and methods of verification.
For the study, we took records of patients treated
in outpatient and inpatient settings at the Khorezm LOR Shifo clinic from December 2023 to
the end of January 2024. During this period, the clinic conducted diagnostic and treatment
work in 133 children with acute otitis media. From this, we obtained the following results.

Conclusion:
As can be seen from the tables above, acute otitis media occurred in 78.2% of
children aged 0-9 years, respectively, in the ratio of men and women by sex ratio - 1:1.4. As
a result of the examination and anamnesis collection, the reasons were the untimely
examination of children by an ENT doctor and the unauthorized use of breast milk and
various antiseptic drugs in the ear at home. As a result of diagnostic and therapeutic
measures, 73 children were diagnosed with the disease at an early stage and treated without
perforation of the tympanic membrane. Perforation of the tympanic membrane was detected
in 34 patients, in 25 children it turned into a chronic form. All children underwent the
necessary treatment. Including antibiotic therapy and physiotherapy procedures, etc. Only in
1 child, due to the mother's irresponsible and improper care and poor living conditions, the
recovery phase lasted 25 days.
Recommendation
1. When applying to medical institutions, be sure to consult an ENT doctor for any problems
with
the
nasal
cavity
and
throat.
2. Taking measures to protect against seasonal infectious diseases.
3. Teaching young mothers the rules of childcare. 4. Timely consultation with a doctor.
