1. Introduction

end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and acute kidney injury (AKI). Nurses in this
specialty play a pivotal role in patient care, education, and advocacy, contributing
significantly to improved patient outcomes and quality of life.

nephrology nursing encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human
responses to actual or potential health problems related to kidney disease. This
includes:

: Administering dialysis, monitoring vital signs, and
managing complications.

: Teaching patients and families about kidney disease,
treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
Advocacy
: Representing patient interests in multidisciplinary teams and
ensuring access to necessary resources.

: Engaging in studies to improve care practices and outcomes
