Abstract: This article discusses the role of information technologies in the
process of teaching foreign languages and their impact on educational effectiveness.
Information technologies, in particular, allow for the improvement of teaching
methods through computer programs, online platforms, video lessons, interactive
tests and virtual learning environments. Research shows that these tools increase
students' interest in knowledge, make the lesson process more interesting and
effective, and create favorable conditions for language learning. This article analyzes
the practical importance, advantages and ways of their effective introduction into
education.
Keywords: foreign language, information technologies, innovative methods,
educational system, online platforms, multimedia tools, artificial intelligence,
gamification, interactive learning, language learning efficiency.
In the era of modern globalization, learning foreign languages is considered
not only as a means of communication, but also as one of the important factors for the
active participation of each person in social, economic and cultural life. This process
plays an important role in being competitive in the modern labor market, working
with foreign countries and mastering modern knowledge. In particular, the rapid
development of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the education
system is causing the language learning process to move to a qualitatively new level.

With the help of information technologies, the educational process can be
brought to a state based on an interactive, multimedia and individual approach. Such
changes and developments increase the effectiveness of lessons and develop students'
independent thinking, critical approach and independent learning skills. At the same
time, language learning can be made more interesting, convenient and effective with
the help of various online platforms, mobile applications, artificial intelligence-based
programs and remote classes.
The most popular and convenient form of using innovative technologies is
multimedia and visual tools. Language learning and teaching are facilitated by video
lessons, animations, infographics and presentations on various social networks. For
example, using resources such as TED Talks or BBC Learning English when teaching
English helps students learn real-life pronunciation and communication styles. Visual
content expands vocabulary and makes it easier to remember.
Through online platforms and mobile applications, it is possible to consolidate
the topic explained to students and quickly and easily assess their level of knowledge.
Today, applications such as Duolingo, Quizlet, Memrise, Busuu, BBC Learning App
are widely used among students. With the help of these applications, students can
independently learn a language anywhere and at any time. According to statistics,
Quizlet users learn new words 30% faster. The platform also allows teachers to assign,
monitor, and grade assignments outside of class.
Platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, which have become
popular all over the world, have become widely used during the pandemic and remain
relevant to this day. These tools allow not only to take lessons, but also to establish
contact with students in foreign countries, and participate in international projects.
For example, Uzbek students can communicate with English or Russian-speaking
peers and test their language skills in practice. Such virtual classes and online
communication allow them to learn to speak foreign languages without an accent and
like native speakers. The role of artificial intelligence and automatic assessment
systems in language learning is unparalleled. For example, one of the currently
popular and developing technologies is artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning

platforms: Grammarly or Google Translate, which allow not only translation, but also
correction of grammatical errors, suggestion of synonyms, and improvement of
writing style. AI-based platforms also analyze students’ weaknesses and provide them
with appropriate recommendations.
Interactive e-textbooks and platforms are a useful information technology for
students and teachers alike, as e-textbooks, audiobooks, and exercise platforms allow
students to learn at their own pace. Such textbooks are usually enriched with videos,
voice annotations, tests, and automatic analysis systems, which allows students to
easily and repeatedly study even difficult topics. Games are also used to make the
teaching process more interesting and effective with the help of information
technologies. For example, Squiz question ", that is, this game is played in English on
social networks and questions are answered in different ways. The main goal of this
game is to develop memory and language learning, in which the learner answers
various words in English while remembering them and remembers them more when
played again. These games are played through social networks, which does not cause
any problems in today's Internet age.
In conclusion, the use of information and communication technologies in
teaching foreign languages significantly increases the effectiveness of the educational
process. Organizing lessons with the help of modern technologies in an interactive,
visual and interesting way increases students' interest in the language and encourages
them to actively participate. Opportunities such as online platforms, mobile
applications, artificial intelligence tools, online classes serve to conduct the language
learning process in an individual and customized manner.
Studies show that the speed, quality and motivation of learning in groups
using ICT tools are 20–40% higher than in traditional methods. These technologies
also create great convenience for teachers - they have the opportunity to effectively
plan lessons, monitor and analyze results. Therefore, the introduction and further
improvement of modern technologies in foreign language education is one of the most
relevant and promising areas today.
