ESTIMATION OF EFFECTIVENESS OF APPLICATION OF
ANTIINFLAMMATORY PREPARATIONS IN COMPLEX TREATMENT
OF INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF PARODONT IN PATIENTS WITH
SUGAR DIABETES OF 2 TYPE

Relevance.
Diabetes mellitus is a common endocrine disease, which belongs
to the risk factors for the development of changes in periodontal tissues. The
presence of diabetes mellitus in patients can cause the development of structural and
functional changes in the maxillofacial area, and also increase the risk of changes in
the tissues of the parodontium. At the same time, the nature of these changes and the
degree of influence of diabetes mellitus on the state of the tissues of the parodon are

insufficiently studied. In this regard, it is necessary to pay great attention to this
problem in order to provide timely assistance to these patients in order to avoid
rather serious complications.
Purpose of the work:
to study the effectiveness of the use of Cholisal-gel in
the complex treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases in patients with type 2
diabetes mellitus.
Materials and methods:
we studied Cholisal-gel, which includes the main
active ingredients - choline salicylate and cetalkonium chloride and auxiliary
substances - glycerin, methyloxybenzoate, hydroxymethylcellulose, anise oil. The
study included 10 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis of moderate and
moderate severity, complicated by periodontal abscesses against the background of
type 2 diabetes mellitus, mean age 40 ± 1.5 years. In this group, the anti-
inflammatory and hemostatic effect of the drug on the inflamed periodontal soft
tissues was studied. Gel "Cholisal" was used at the periodontal reception and was
used by patients independently twice a day (morning and evening) for 10 days.
All patients underwent a complex of professional hygiene. The method of
treatment consisted in the fact that the gel was applied to the gums immediately after
opening the abscess for 5 minutes, during which the gums were isolated from saliva.
Processing was carried out 3 times a week. Depending on the severity of the process,
the course ranged from 7 to 8 procedures. The assessment of the antiinflammatory
effect was carried out on the basis of the dynamics of the PMA indices in the Parma
modification and the Mullemann sulcus bleeding index in the Cowell modification,
which were determined during the examination before the start of treatment and
every subsequent week.
The results of the study showed:
a decrease in the PMA index from 48% at
the beginning of the study to 30.2% after one week of application, and after another
week, this figure dropped to 23.8%. The bleeding of the gums after one week of
using the gel decreased by 25.5%, and after two weeks the hemostatic efficiency was
50%. Thus, the results of the study showed the effectiveness and feasibility of using
"Cholisal" - gel in the treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases in patients
with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
