Introduction.
Modern agriculture faces the challenge of increasing economic efficiency
while operating under resource constraints and growing quality demands. Dairy and meat
livestock farming, as a key branch of the agricultural sector, requires the implementation of
advanced approaches to managing production resources, including land, labor, feed, and
technologies. Inefficient use of these resources decreases competitiveness and hampers the
development of the sector. This study aims to analyze current methods of resource
management in livestock production and identify ways to improve them.
Methodology.
The methodological basis of this research includes general scientific and
specific economic methods aimed at identifying factors affecting the efficiency of production
resource use in livestock farming. The following methods were applied:
- Analysis and synthesis – to examine cost structures and the relationship between
resource inputs and production outcomes;

- Comparative analysis – to compare performance indicators across farms and regions;
- Economic-mathematical modeling – to estimate optimal resource allocation and assess
the economic impact of resource-saving technologies;
- Monographic method – to study the best practices of leading farms;
- Graphical method – to visually represent the results.
The information base includes statistical data from the Ministry of Agriculture, academic
publications, and financial reports of the participating farms.
Analysis and results.
The analysis of several farms specializing in dairy and meat
production revealed key inefficiencies. In some cases:
- feed consumption exceeded norms by 15–20%;
- mechanization covered less than 60% of production processes;
- labor and fixed asset productivity remained below regional benchmarks.
After implementing improved resource management strategies—such as optimized feed
rations and automated monitoring systems—the following effects were observed:
- a 12% reduction in milk production cost per liter;
- an increase in milk yield per cow by an average of 450 liters per year;
- an 18% growth in fixed asset productivity.
Farms using a comprehensive approach to resource management showed profitability
levels 8–10% higher than the regional average. These results confirm the need for data-driven
and systematized management methods to ensure economic sustainability in livestock
production.
Conclusion.
This study confirms that improving production resource management is
essential for increasing the economic efficiency of dairy and meat livestock farming. Key
reserves lie in optimizing feed usage, labor allocation, and machinery deployment, along with
the use of modern digital tools and economic planning. A holistic approach combining technical,
economic, and managerial measures helps reduce costs and improve product competitiveness.
The results may be applied in the development of state and regional programs aimed at
enhancing the performance and sustainability of the livestock sector.
