This article substantiates the importance of self-control in
generalizing the psychological and emotional states of military
personnel's behavior in stressful situations, drawing on the
opinions of researchers. It highlights that the development of
psychological-emotional and behavioral regulation skills among
military personnel is crucial for finding solutions to issues
related to socialization and adaptation within the team, which in
turn enhances their ability to adapt and socialize.

At present, it is extremely important to develop essential qualities in military
personnel, such as high morale, psychological stability, and the ability to control their
behavior in any situation. These qualities are crucial to ensuring a high level of military
training during peacetime and for the successful conduct of military operations during
wartime. The ability of military personnel to exhibit appropriate behavior in stressful
situations largely depends on their self-perception, the condition of their nervous system,
and the balance between their needs and available opportunities. Low self-confidence,
increased internal conflict during service, a misunderstanding of one's role in the team,
and poor health can also lead to a decrease in the level of adaptation.
From this perspective, the adaptation of military personnel to stressful situations
depends on several objective and subjective factors, including the functional state of the
serviceman's div, life experience, and interpersonal relationships within the unit. In
addition, certain personality traits remain stable and help individuals adapt to various
circumstances. These traits should guide the integrated regulation of behavior and the
level of socialization. The emotions of military personnel and their reactions to events,
along with the functioning of the central nervous system's regulatory mechanisms, play an
important role in shaping integrated behavior. After all, the same stimuli can trigger
different reactions in different servicemen.
According to local psychologists D. Karshieva and Z. Rasulova, 'to eliminate stress
and aggression, it is necessary to use games, implement a social approach, and prohibit
aggressive actions in children.[1]
Self-
regulation and the regulation of one’s behavior reflect a military serviceman’s
ability to manage interactions with the environment in which they operate. Concepts such
as self-esteem, psychological stability, and social support also play a role in regulating
behavior. The issue of positive self-formation is becoming increasingly relevant both
theoretically and practically. A theoretical analysis of the literature shows that the problem
of self-esteem has been extensively studied from general psychological and philosophical
perspectives by both foreign and domestic researchers. However, there is no universally
accepted definition of this concept, as it is closely tied to the notions of 'self' and 'me'
[2.144].

Based on the nature of military activities during the adjustment period and the
conditions under which these activities are carried out, self-management can be achieved
through various mental tools, such as intuition, clear images, ideas, and concepts.
Self-
control in a military serviceman’s behavior represents a closed form of
regulation, reflecting the interaction between all elements
—
needs, motives, emotional
background, mood, self-awareness, and the concept of 'I' [2.157].
A military service member's adjustment goal alone is not enough to clearly define
the conditions necessary for establishing a program of executive action. The general
principles of self-regulation are applied individually, depending on the characteristics of
the serviceman’s nervous system, personal qualities, and habitual approaches to
organizing activities.
Self-regulation (from the Latin regulare
—
to regulate, establish) refers to the
purposeful functioning of living systems at various levels of complexity. In the context of
mental processes, self-regulation is one of the levels of system activity regulation and
reflects the individual’s ability to mentally represent and model reality. The stages of self
-
regulation include the formulation of a voluntary activity goal by the serviceman, the
selection of success criteria for the activity, gathering information about the ongoing
actions, and assessing the results to the success criteria.[3]
World physiologists I.M. Sechenov, I.P. Pavlov, and N.V. Vvedensky [4] contributed
to the development of the theory of self-regulation. Taking into account the reflex activity
of the brain, these researchers revealed the physiological meaning of the voluntary
relaxation of muscles in the state of self-hypnosis against the background of relaxation. L.S.
Vygotsky is one of the scientists who made an important contribution to understanding
the meaning of self-regulation. He proved the indirect nature of the mental activity and the
origin of internal mental processes from external processes (interorization). A.L. Luria
considered speech to be one of the most important means of regulating human behavior
[5]. In fact, because military personnel have poor communication skills in the service of
public security, they can get into various stressful situations when communicating with
citizens.
The Russian scientist R.K. Anokhin put forward the theory of the scientist I.P. Pavlov,
who developed the basic rules of physiological theory, that "Behavior is goal-directed
because it is controlled by the leading reflection of reality" [6].
Consequently, the actions of military personnel are also carried out on the basis of
brain activity. After all, they think first, think, and then perform their actions.
Distinguishing the specific functions of mental processes determines the role of
military personnel in everyday life, service delivery, and regulation of behavior. L.S.
Vygotsky described this situation as "the result of the assessment of the organism's
relationship with the environment." [7.110]
The self-regulation system is a complex formation. Combining it into a single
complex ensures the stability of the behavior regulation process.
It is possible to evaluate the index of mental stability in behavior and self-regulation,
when changing service conditions, the tendency of the nervous system to break down
under strong psychological or physical stress. Military servicemen with signs of mental
instability are characterized by a decrease in flexibility and a tendency to mental disorders.
Determining indicators of mental instability is a direct assessment of stress resistance.
This allows us to describe the limit of frustration. Personality accentuation is assessed by

heightened emotionality, emotional and cognitive stability, and high levels of anxiety,
which are symptoms of psychiatry and various psychiatric disorders.
Every soldier wants to know how his commanders and comrades-in-arms will react
to his actions. After all, the role of social support in the indicator of behavior and self-
regulation is important. Feelings of self-worth and community approval encourage
positive action. This, in turn, helps to increase the level of activity of military personnel and
increases their ability to successfully adapt to new teams and conditions. Not being able to
find one's place in the team, the negative opinions of others, and the feeling of being useless
create negative characteristics and mental instability.
In the process of psychological work with military personnel, attention should be
paid to the formation of the following skills:
- increase the level of adaptation and socialization;
- to develop the skills of knowing about oneself and others;
- increase the level of tolerance to stress;
- to know the methods of self-control in behavior;
- formation of service experiences;
- mastering the methods of communication and interpersonal influence;
- development of imagination;
- try to overcome fear and anxiety;
- positive resolution of conflict situations.
In conclusion, to successfully adapt the behavior of military personnel in stressful
situations and to ensure their biological and social-spiritual safety, it is necessary to
develop a self-management strategy for the organization of targeted exposure to the
military personnel.
