Introduction

One of the most important tasks facing humanity living in the modern

information age is the formation of skills to search for, analyze, sort and
correctly use information. Especially today, the development of information
competence in students studying in higher educational institutions is becoming
a vital necessity. In an era where technologies are developing rapidly and digital
tools are entering every field, it is important for a student to be knowledgeable,
as well as to have the skills to independently analyze the information they have
learned, draw useful conclusions from it, and think critically.

From this perspective, the use of interactive methods in the educational

process is one of the main requirements of today's pedagogy. After all,
interactive methods not only actively involve students in the lesson, but also
expand their horizons, develop skills such as collective thinking, free expression
of information, and problem-solving. It is through these methods that students
not only gain knowledge, but also become information competent owners
suitable for modern society. This thesis analyzes the theoretical and practical
foundations of using interactive methods in the development of information
competence. It highlights ways to direct students to independent research in the
world of information, and to stimulate their creative and critical thinking. The
relevance of the topic is that it is not only related to the quality and content of
current education, but also plays an important role in the preparation of
competitive personnel in the future.

Achieving effective results in the modern educational process depends, first

of all, on the methods and methods of teaching. The formation of information
competence, in turn, requires interactive, student-centered approaches rather

than traditional approaches. Therefore, the methodological foundations used in
this study were determined based on modern pedagogical technologies, a
constructivist approach, and the principles of active learning. During the study,
the existing knowledge, skills, and competencies of students in working with
information were analyzed. In this process, empirical methods such as
observation, interview, test questions, and diagnostic analysis were used. At the
same time, practical exercises were conducted with experimental groups in
order to assess the effectiveness of interactive methods. In particular, through
lessons organized on the basis of methods such as “Brainstorming”, “Debate”,
“Insert”, “Cluster”, “Venn Diagram”, students were actively involved in processes
such as searching for information, sorting it, analyzing it, discussing it in groups,
and drawing conclusions.

The research methodology included a systematic approach not only in using

interactive methods, but also in determining their effectiveness. This allowed us
to draw conclusions based not only on theoretical considerations, but also on
practical evidence. Also, during the experimental work, criteria for assessing
student activity were developed, and changes in their information competence
were monitored through monitoring. The final results showed that the
educational process organized on the basis of interactive methods increases the
activity of students, encourages them to think independently, and creates the
basis for their formation as individuals who can effectively act in a modern
information environment. Thus, the methodological approach to the
development of information competence is directly related not only to the
content of training, but also to its form and style.

In the selection of materials used in the research process, attention was

paid, first of all, to their practical significance and content richness in the
formation of information competence in students. Updated curricula, interactive
methodological manuals, multimedia tools and digital resources that meet the
requirements of modern education served as the main sources. The research
studied the capabilities of information and communication technologies used in
higher education institutions. In particular, electronic learning platforms
(Moodle, Google Classroom, ZiyoNET), virtual libraries, scientific theses
databases (Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate) and modern database
services were widely involved. At the same time, textbooks and study guides for
students, methodological recommendations, and a set of interactive tasks that
can be used in the educational process were included in the main theoretical and
practical materials.

At the practical stage, interactive tasks, textual and visual materials, test

questions, project work and materials prepared on suitable topics for group
discussions that students could use in the lesson were tested. These materials
guided students to think independently, analyze information based on a critical
approach and use it effectively. In particular, through interactive materials
combined with methods such as “Cluster”, “Insert”, “Role playing”,
“Brainstorming”, students not only learned to acquire knowledge, but also
learned to apply it in practice.

The diversity of the materials used in education, the fact that they served to

develop the individual and collective activities of students, and were an
important tool in perceiving information and forming an independent approach
to it, once again confirmed the relevance of this study. This, in turn, can serve as
the main support in bringing the modern educational process to a new level.

Discussion

:

In today's digital era, when the flow of knowledge is so rapid and

expanding, it is of great importance for students not only to acquire information,
but also to search for it, analyze it and apply it in practice. In this regard, the
formation of information competence in students has become one of the main
tasks of modern education. Observations and experiments conducted within the
framework of this study showed how the use of interactive methods gives
positive results in this direction. In the educational process, where the student is
not a passive listener, but an active participant, the attitude towards information
also changes. For example, through the "Brainstorming" method, students
express their opinions on a specific topic, learn to respond to each other's
opinions, provide evidence, and give explanations. This develops not only their
logical thinking, but also their ability to select and process information.

In addition, through methods such as “Insert”, “Venn Diagram”, “Role

Playing”, students’ thinking scope expands, their competencies such as
exchanging ideas, analyzing information, comparing and drawing conclusions
begin to form. Such methods also develop students’ skills in teamwork,
communication, and presenting information visually and meaningfully. During
the experiment, it was observed that students actively participated in interactive
lessons, were able to express their opinions openly, and demonstrated a desire
for innovation. The discussion shows that in developing information
competence, the methods through which it is conveyed are more important than
the content of education. Interactive methods allow not only to deeply assimilate
knowledge, but also to analyze it independently and apply it in different

contexts. This serves the goal of today’s education - to educate a modern,
thinking, creative person who can work effectively with information.

Conclusion.

Living in today's rapidly changing information world, the younger

generation is required not only to be knowledgeable, but also to be able to
analyze the information they have learned, select it, distinguish the necessary
information and apply it in practice. The formation of information competence
in students is one of the main pedagogical tasks serving this purpose. The
analyzes, experiments and observations conducted in the course of this research
have shown that it is possible and necessary to develop this competence through
the targeted and effective use of interactive methods. Through interactive
methods, the learning process is revitalized, the student becomes an active
participant in educational activities, not a passive one. This, in turn, develops his
modern skills such as independent thinking, working with information, group
communication, and critical thinking. Methods such as "Brainstorming", "Insert",
"Role Playing", "Debate" serve to deepen the understanding of information,
process it and create new knowledge. The results obtained during the
experiment proved that the interactive approach not only improves the quality
of the lesson, but also increases students' interest in learning. In conclusion, the
role of interactive methods in developing information literacy in students is
invaluable. By widely implementing these approaches in the educational
process, we will have taken an important step towards training modern
knowledgeable, thoughtful and competitive personnel. Therefore, educators
should systematically use interactive methods in their activities and pay special
attention to the formation of not only students' knowledge, but also their ability
to work with the modern information environment.
