THE ROLE OF SONG AND DANCE IN THE CULTURE OF THE
YOUNGER GENERATION

Abstract
This article analyzes the new directions in modern song and
dance art, their harmony with traditional culture, their role in the culture of the
younger generation, and their significance in the global cultural arena. It
discusses modern technologies, the fusion of musical genres, the approaches of
young creators, and their role in cultural development. The article emphasizes
that song and dance are important tools for preserving and renewing culture.

Culture is the spiritual wealth of every nation and its most valuable heritage
passed down to future generations. In the rich culture of the Uzbek people, song
and dance hold a special place. Especially in the lives of the younger generation,
these art forms have a unique significance. This article discusses the role of song
and dance in youth culture and how they help preserve the spirituality and
national identity of young people.Song and dance are not only forms of art but
also living sources that reflect the historical events, customs, and values of a
people. For young people, these art forms provide an opportunity to learn their
native language, understand their traditions, and approach them with respect.
For example, song and dance clubs organized in schools and cultural centers
increase young people’s interest in national culture. In today’s era of
globalization, the younger generation is influenced by foreign cultures and
sometimes faces the risk of distancing themselves from their national values.
Therefore, song and dance serve as important tools for preserving the
spirituality and national identity of youth. Uzbek songs and dances bring young
people closer to history and the heritage of their ancestors, awakening a sense of
national pride and dignity. Among young people, performing song and dance in
new, modern forms while preserving traditions brings these art forms closer to
the world of youth. Famous singers and dance groups present national culture in
new ways that appeal to young tastes. This significantly contributes to the
development of song and dance arts. Song and dance, as an integral part of
national culture, have evolved over centuries by renewing their form and
content, passing from generation to generation. Today, under the influence of
global culture, modern song and dance are manifested in new directions and

formats. This article discusses the new trends in modern song and dance and
their role among the younger generation and society as a whole. Modern song
and dance are being revitalized through new technologies and creative
approaches while preserving traditional elements. For example, modern
arrangements of folk songs, their fusion with electronic music, and the
enrichment of dance movements with new styles breathe fresh life into the art.
This increases young people’s interest in national culture. Nowadays, the fusion
style a blend of various genres is widespread in modern song and dance. Uzbek
national music and dance elements are combined with modern genres such as
pop,hip-hop and performed in new formats. This ensures wider recognition of
song and dance arts in the global cultural arena. With technological
advancements, music and dance arts have reached new levels. Music videos,
stage effects, and digital animations make modern song and dance performances
even more attractive. Through online platforms, performers share their work
with the whole world, which contributes to the international development of our
culture. Young creators are enriching modern song and dance with new
methods. While preserving national traditions, they address new themes and
express pressing social issues through art. Among the youth, unique creative
movements are emerging, which are taking our culture to a new level. Modern
song and dance serve as a bridge in youth culture. Through these art forms,
young people find their identity, integrate into international culture, yet never
forget their national roots. In this way, song and dance play an important role in
modernizing and preserving our culture. Schools, universities, and cultural
centers actively teach young people song and dance. Modern song and dance
hold a significant place in social life not only as cultural entertainment but also
as a means of social connection and personal development. They strengthen
communication, cooperation, and unity among different social groups, especially
youth. Through dance and song, people express their emotions, reduce stress
and everyday pressure, and achieve mental stability. Moreover, modern song
and dance play an important role in preserving and strengthening national
identity within society. In a society influenced by global culture, showcasing
national traditions in new styles and engaging young people with them helps
develop a sense of national pride and unity. At the same time, these art forms
contribute to fostering friendship and understanding between different cultures
and promoting our culture on the international stage. Festivals, competitions,
and creative groups related to song and dance invigorate cultural life and
encourage young talents. As a result, new talents emerge in these fields,

enriching our culture even further. Here, young people discover their talents and
strengthen their love for national art. At the same time, various competitions

identity in the culture of the younger generation. They connect youth with our
history and traditions, reinforcing national pride and spirituality. Today,
developing song and dance in new formats and attracting young people to these
arts guarantees the long-term survival of our culture.
