Today, many medical workers are learning English: some want to do an
internship or work abroad, others dream of attending international conferences, and
still others are the first to read publications about medical discoveries. Whatever
your goal, take a step forward to achieve it. Currently, English has become a
language of communication for people of various professions, for example:
athletes, politicians, scientists, pilots, etc.
There are a lot of languages in the world: French, German, Spanish, Italian,
Turkish, Arabic, etc. But the most popular, of course, is English. There are some
reasons for its popularity.
They continue to study at a university or institute because it is easier to learn
than other languages.
English today, as a global language of communication, plays an important
role in many areas of the world, including medicine. Knowledge of English is
necessary for successful work in the medical field, conducting scientific research
and establishing international cooperation. The world's leading scientific journals,
medical technologies and international conferences are mainly organized in
English. Also, guidelines, standards and studies published by international medical
organizations are also published in English. Therefore, knowledge of English is a
key factor in the professional development of medical professionals and their
success on a global scale.
Modern medicine is developing globally and the exchange of medical
knowledge is accelerating. English is the main language of scientific
communication worldwide, and medical professionals are required to know
English in order to understand and effectively use innovations in the field of
medicine.
Leading scientific articles, textbooks and studies in the field of medicine are
mainly published in English. For example, the most current medical studies are
published in prestigious journals such as The Lancet, New England Journal of

Medicine, JAMA. New terminologies in medical science are also mainly created
in English.
Many international medical conferences, seminars and symposiums are held
in English. For example, official documents of the World Health Organization
(WHO), the American Medical Association (AMA) and other prestigious
organizations are also kept in English.
Textbooks in many higher medical education institutions are in English, and
students need to know English to learn modern medical knowledge. In particular,
doctors who want to study or do internships internationally are required to take
exams such as IELTS and TOEFL.
In addition, English is also important for modern medical technologies and
artificial intelligence systems. Instructions and software for medical equipment are
usually prepared in English. Artificial intelligence technologies, such as programs
that analyze X-ray images, also work in English. Knowledge of English expands
the possibility of obtaining international certificates. Through international
certificates such as USMLE and PLAB, medical professionals have the opportunity
to work and improve their skills abroad.
English is also used as the main means of communication in telemedicine
services and medical tourism. English plays a significant role in providing quality
services to patients from different countries. Standards and protocols published by
international medical organizations are also prepared mainly in English, which
ensures a uniform approach worldwide.
In many countries, doctors have to work with foreign patients. Knowledge
of English helps to prevent errors in the diagnostic and treatment processes. It also
creates an opportunity to exchange scientific experience with specialists from
different countries.
Also, English is of great importance for each field, and it is important to
study and apply it in life. In the independent Republic of Uzbekistan, the attitude

towards a foreign language, in particular English, has changed radically. Since the
opportunity to study and improve skills in foreign countries has appeared, our
young people should have the opportunity to work in foreign languages as well as
in their native languages. Teaching foreign languages to paramedics has its own
characteristics. Paramedics must be able to speak simply, know the lexicon, and
master medical terminology perfectly. Because they must be able to read and
translate instructions for medicines, techniques and technologies, and medical
equipment imported from abroad that they will encounter in their future work. They
must have the confidence to translate the annotations to newly imported medical
devices using a dictionary.
In conclusion, the role of English in medicine is invaluable, it is important
for scientific research, education, international exchange of experience and
effective communication with patients. Knowledge of English for doctors and
medical professionals allows them to adapt to global changes and effectively use
the achievements of modern medicine.
