space in the life of the younger generation. This work is devoted to the study of
didactic means that contribute to the effective formation of media literacy
among students. The article discusses theoretical approaches to media literacy,
analyzes current pedagogical practices, and also proposes specific didactic tools
aimed at developing critical thinking, skills in analyzing and evaluating media

In the modern information society, media literacy is becoming an important

component of the educational process. Media literacy includes the ability to
critically analyze and evaluate information, create media content, and use digital
technologies safely and effectively. The development of media literacy is
especially important for students who are active consumers and creators of
media content. The development of students' media literacy requires the correct
organization of the educational process depending on the level of knowledge,
skill level, source of education, and pedagogical tasks of students in mastering
the content of education. To achieve these goals, various didactic tools should be
used.

In recent decades, media literacy has become an integral part of education,

especially in the context of preparing students who must be able to navigate the
information flow, critically perceive media content and effectively use various
media resources in their professional activities. The development of students'
media literacy requires the introduction of specific didactic tools that will allow
the formation of the necessary competencies. This article examines the main
didactic tools that contribute to the development of students' media literacy in
the educational process.

Media literacy is the ability to critically perceive and analyze media content,

consciously choose sources of information, and use various forms of media to
solve problems in professional and personal life. It is important that media
literacy includes not only the ability to work with traditional sources of
information, such as newspapers and television, but also with new media, such
as social networks, blogs, videos, and podcasts.

The main objectives of didactic tools aimed at developing students' media

literacy are:

1.

Development of critical thinking: students must learn to evaluate the

reliability of information, recognize manipulation and propaganda, and analyze
content from different points of view.

2.

Developing media production skills: students should be able to create

media content (including text, video materials, infographics) using modern
technologies and software.

3.

Mastering information technology: This includes the skills of searching,

sorting and evaluating information, as well as the ability to work with various
media formats and platforms.

4.

Media safety training: Students should be aware of the risks associated

with online interactions and be able to protect their personal information, avoid
manipulation and fakes.

For successful development of media literacy in students, it is necessary to

use various didactic tools that will allow students not only to master theoretical
knowledge, but also to apply it in practice. Let's consider the main didactic tools
that are actively used in the educational process.

1. Multimedia and interactive platforms

Modern educational platforms such as Moodle, Google Classroom, Edmodo

allow integrating various media formats into the educational process. These can
be videos, presentations, infographics and even podcasts, which contribute to a
deeper perception of the educational material.

The use of such platforms in the learning process gives students the

opportunity not only to study media content, but also to create it, working with
various formats and tools. This contributes to the development of media
production skills and critical analysis.

2. Media Content Analysis

One of the effective methods of teaching media literacy is the analysis of

various types of media content: news, television programs, commercials, social

media, etc. Students learn to evaluate the context in which the material is
presented, to identify hidden messages and manipulations.

To do this, teachers can use various approaches: group discussions, writing

analytical reports, comparative analysis of various sources of information. This
approach develops critical thinking and media analysis skills.

3. Project-based activities

Project-based learning is an effective way to develop media literacy, since

students not only study media technologies theoretically, but also apply them in
practice. As part of project-based activities, students can create their own media
products, such as blogs, videos, infographics, interviews and other forms of
content.

Project-based activities allow students to develop and implement their own

ideas, work in a team, master new technologies and tools for creating media
products. This approach promotes the development of creativity and practical
skills in working with media.

4. Learning through content creation

Learning through the creation of media content plays a significant role in

the development of students' media literacy. Teachers can ask students to
develop their own video blogs, articles, presentations and other materials, which
can then be analyzed and assessed based on media literacy criteria.

Content creation helps students master practical media skills such as

writing texts, video shooting and editing, using graphics and animation. This
develops not only technical skills, but also a critical attitude towards the created
content, which is an important component of media literacy.

5. Simulation and Role Play Learning

Using simulations and role plays in the learning process helps students

understand how media influences the perception of reality and what
mechanisms are used to manipulate the audience. Students can take on the role
of journalists, editors, bloggers, analysts, which gives the opportunity to see the
media process from different angles.

This method helps develop media production skills and critical thinking in

real-life conditions.

Media literacy is becoming a necessary component of modern education,

and its development among students requires the active use of various didactic
tools. Multimedia platforms, media content analysis, project activities, creating
your own content and role-playing games - all these tools help to develop

students' most important skills, such as critical thinking, the ability to work with
media and information, as well as safety in the media space.

The introduction of these didactic tools into the educational process will

not only increase the level of students' media literacy, but also prepare them for
a successful and conscious life in the modern information society.
