INTRODUCTION
Importance of the English language
English language skills play a vital role in contemporary society, benefiting
individuals significantly. [1, 109-127] Proficiency in English facilitates establishing
connections with people from diverse nations and cultures, enhances employment
prospects, and fosters ease while traveling abroad. Integrating foreign language
instruction is a pivotal element of the present-day Russian educational system. Initially,
learning English primarily emphasizes grammar and vocabulary acquisition, with minimal
focus on oral communication skills.
Implementation of role-playing games in education.
It was suggested that a
teacher should follow specific steps to effectively incorporate role-playing games in the
classroom. These steps include preparation, explanation, execution, and analysis of the
game. Utilizing role-playing games proficiently can enhance students' cognitive skills in
English language acquisition. [3, 24]
DISCUSSION AND FINDINGS
The growing demand for proficiency in a second language necessitates the
exploration of more effective technologies and teaching strategies. The usage of games in
English classes is becoming increasingly significant as it bridges the gap between learning
and real-life communication scenarios. [2, 41-52] Games not only enhance students'
interest in the subject but also foster their creativity, enabling the creation of situations
that encourage active verbal participation. Consequently, incorporating role-playing
games into the curriculum serves as a valuable tool for honing verbal communication skills.
[4, 42-56]
LITERATURE ANALYSIS AND METHODOLOGY
In the initial phases of learning English, students are introduced to a completely
unfamiliar language. They are required to grasp new vocabulary, grammar, phonetics,

reading, writing, speaking, as well as familiarize themselves with the customs, regulations,
and cultures of various English-speaking nations. As outlined in the Primary General
Education standard, the educational objectives for foreign language acquisition at the
primary level should encompass:
Developing basic oral and written communication skills with native speakers.
Establishing fundamental linguistic concepts essential for oral and written
proficiency in a foreign language
Cultivating a sense of friendliness and acceptance towards speakers of other
languages through exposure to international peers' lifestyles, children's folklore, and
literature.
During the initial instructional phase, educators must initiate activities to nurture
students' ability to engage with their peers and lay the groundwork for developing
communicative proficiency in a foreign language. By prioritizing verbal communication
skills, students engage in interactive learning experiences, engaging in dialogue, synching
ideas, and broadening their understanding of the lifestyles, cultures, and customs
prevalent in English-speaking nations. Despite these benefits, educators typically
encounter distinct challenges when teaching verbal communication skills in the early
stages. [5, 105-122]
Enhancing speech and language development in young schoolchildren
Inadequate utilization of speech and language tools among young students can
hinder their ability to effectively communicate. This insufficiency often results in limited
vocabulary usage, challenges in applying learned grammar rules, and a lack of situational
knowledge during English lessons. Consequently, students may struggle to articulate their
thoughts, inhibiting the development of pronunciation skills.
To address this issue, educators must establish a strong foundation of meaningful
and semantic understanding. Lessons should focus on cultivating both verbal and written
communication skills by leveraging the lexical and grammatical knowledge acquired
within the context of the topic being studied.
At the onset of English instruction, students may feel uncertain and hesitant to make
mistakes or receive feedback from their teachers. Encouraging students to not only correct
sentences or fill in missing words but also to independently formulate statements and
present them to the class can heighten anxieties. E. N. Solovova suggests creating an
atmosphere
of
goodwill
and
trust
to
alleviate
these
fears.
[6, 95-106]
RESULTS
To facilitate students' effective acquisition of communication skills, teachers should
create speech scenarios where young learners feel at ease and engaged in the interaction
process. These scenarios can be presented in the form of interactive games, which also
boost student motivation. Additionally, teachers should consider the psychological traits
of primary school students, cultivate an interest in foreign language learning, and promote
collaborative group work to enhance motivation and teamwork skills.
The integration of game-based methods into the learning process can help achieve
educational objectives. Today, there is a growing interest in language learning, particularly
due to the foundational knowledge acquired during childhood education. Teachers play a
vital role in adapting teaching strategies to align with the needs of a knowledge-based
society, necessitating ongoing assessment of educational efficacy and flexibility in

responding to diverse student needs. Adaptability and individualized support are crucial
aspects of effective teaching practice.
Benefits of Incorporating Games in Language Teaching
Incorporating games into language teaching is essential for educators to effectively
apply competencies in classroom activities. Besides theoretical knowledge, teachers must
understand the skills required for vocational training and be motivated to enhance their
teaching skills. [7, 16]
English teachers utilize various teaching methods such as oral, written, visual, and
multimodal approaches. While question-answer displays and written materials are
commonly used, students are increasingly interested in the speaking strategies and
resources employed by teachers.
Throughout history, renowned educators like K. D. Ushinsky, A. S. Makarenko, V. A.
Sukhomlinsky, L. S. Vygotsky, and D. B. Elkonin have emphasized the significance of games
in the learning process. Using games in language teaching offers numerous benefits:
1.
Enhances visual and auditory development in students.
2.
Facilitates cognitive processes and fosters creativity.
3.
Speeds up language acquisition and improves material retention.
4.
Encourages broad thinking and creativity beyond the curriculum.
5.
Provides emotional relief and diversifies the learning experience.
6.
Introduces a competitive element, motivating all students to participate.
7.
Connects learning to real-life situations, emphasizing the importance of
communication in English.
8.
Increases student interest in learning a foreign language and understanding
different cultures.
Teaching Oral Communication through Speech Games
Speech games are highly effective for teaching oral communication skills. By
engaging in these games, students can practice their English language skills in real-life
situations. Various types of games can be utilized, such as situational games, role-playing
games, and business games. Role-playing games can involve anything from controlled
conversations to theatrical performances. These games help students improve their
speech skills by allowing them to act out scenarios and take on different roles. Teachers
must select role-playing games that are suitable for young students and match their
language proficiency level. [8, 72]
Components of Role-playing Games:
To fully understand role-playing games, it is important to consider their key
components. According to A. V. Konisheva, a role-playing game consists of set roles, game
actions, relationships between players, goals, use of objects, and the plot. These elements
contribute to creating a realistic and engaging learning experience.
Implementing Role-playing Games:
When incorporating role-playing games into an English lesson, teachers should
follow a straightforward approach proposed by Konisheva. Preparation is key - teachers
need to carefully plan the game scenario, assign roles to students, provide necessary
materials, and explain the rules clearly. Throughout the game, teachers should guide
students, encourage participation, address questions, and facilitate discussions. After the
game concludes, it is important to reflect on the experience, identify areas of improvement,
and recognize collaborative efforts.

By integrating speech games like role-playing activities into English language
teaching, educators can create dynamic and interactive learning environments that
enhance students' communication skills. [9, 64]
CONCLUSION
Thus, we can conclude that gaming technologies are of great importance in the
learning process and are an effective tool in teaching a foreign language. During gaming
activities, students not only learn new information faster, but also experience positive
emotions, communicate with other schoolchildren, and actively develop creative thinking.
In addition, to successfully learn verbal and verbal communication, teachers must comply
with the requirements for games and choose. It is necessary to develop games that are
useful for students and at the same time interesting. Playing the role can be an effective
tool in the hands of a teacher. It is in the role-playing game that students ' verbal and verbal
communication skills develop, the effectiveness of learning to speak a foreign language
increase.
