This article discusses the organization of storytelling lessons in primary school
reading literacy based on the 4K model. These modern textbooks for primary grades are aimed
at the comprehensive development of students, not only knowledge, but also the formation of
skills necessary for easy adaptation to modern society. The use of modern teaching methods
leads to high efficiency in the teaching process.
Keywords:
“4K model”, creativity, critical thinking, cooperation, dialogue.
The concept of improving the quality of education is not only learning more and acquiring
information, but also developing thinking, quickly selecting important ones from a large flow of
information, determining the direction, correctly assessing the situation, and forming skills and
qualifications to solve non-standard problems. A modern teacher, in order to find his place in
today's competitive education market, must organize the educational process based on a new
approach. The quality of education depends, first of all, on the level of mastering the main link
of the educational process, educational material as both its object and subject. Namely, the 4K
model plays a very important catalytic role in improving the quality of education today. The
concept of 4K is usually used to describe competencies in the cognitive, metacognitive, social
and emotional areas. The “4K” model, that is, critical thinking, collaboration, communication
and creativity, is a model. This model is aimed at increasing the activity and interest of students,
developing their problem-solving, comprehensive thinking skills and preparing them for real-
life events. Problem-solving methods in education based on the “4K” model closely help
students apply these skills in practice. A story is a small-scale work of art that summarizes a
certain event in a person’s life, important aspects of life. “A story often describes an episode in
a person’s life. Its content is more realistic than a fairy tale.”
The story is considered a very suitable genre for primary school students in terms of meaning.
Primary school students are mainly interested in stories about the characters, their appearance,
portraits, and events. Therefore, the introduction to the story is accompanied by an explanation
of its plot to the students. In the explanatory reading lessons dedicated to reading the story in
the fourth grade “Reading Literacy” textbook, the main types of work are: revealing the content
of the story read based on the 4K model, teaching critical thinking about negative and positive
situations, working on vocabulary, retelling the read text.
To reveal the content of the story, it is usually analyzed using questions. Questions serve two
purposes:
- explaining and analyzing the content of the story;
- used to identify connections between facts, reasoning, comparing events, events, actions, and
generalizing conclusions.
When teaching a story based on the 4K model, the main thing is to analyze its content and, on
this basis, to develop students' speech, to express their thoughts clearly and clearly, to listen to

and understand the interlocutor, and to use language effectively in conveying information. After
reading the story, students are given time to think, reflect, and prepare to express their opinions.
The first questions asked about the studied work are aimed at finding out whether the story was
liked or disliked by the children, and which character's behavior influenced the child. Then,
questions are used that help to reveal the plot of the story, the development of the event, to
study the characters' character, and finally, to understand the main idea of the work by
creative thinking. For example, in the 4th grade "Reading Literacy" "The Wandering Bird"
(Zamira Ibrohimova) “Pearl” (Mary Joslin), “Tashbagir” (Jabbor Razzaqov), “Winged Dreams”
(Hilola Hamdomova), “One of the Seven Treasures” (Hilola Hamdomova), “Hunarli mingni
yengar” (Obiddin Mahmudov) and other interesting stories are given. These stories are diverse
in terms of themes and differ in the character traits and general conclusions of their heroes.
For example, in the story “Pearl” a feeling of admiration for Josh’s loyal, generous friendship is
aroused, while Ruben’s behavior and experiences evoke love for the Motherland, and his fate
evokes a sense of appreciation for his homeland. In primary grades, various analyses of the plot,
composition, and characters of the story are carried out based on working on the text. This
increases the student’s creative activity and expands the scope of creative thinking.
Conclusion
The use of interactive methods and modern technologies in education based on the “4K” model
makes the learning process more attractive for students. Interactive methods are educational
methods that provide interaction between students and teachers, encourage dialogue, and
increase the active participation of students. Through these methods, students have the
opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice, work in groups, and exchange ideas. For
teachers, these methods provide an opportunity to conduct lessons in an interesting and
effective manner.
