Abstract

This article explores the relevance of cultivating a well-rounded personality, the role of national values in personal development, and the core essence of national upbringing. It justifies the necessity of using educational methods rooted in national traditions, customs, and heritage in raising the younger generation, especially in the context of globalization. The impact of national upbringing through family, school, and society on the socialization of individuals is also analyzed.

THE ROLE OF NATIONAL UPBRINGING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A

HARMONIOUS PERSONALITY

Annotation:

This article explores the relevance of cultivating a well-rounded personality, the

role of national values in personal development, and the core essence of national upbringing. It

justifies the necessity of using educational methods rooted in national traditions, customs, and

heritage in raising the younger generation, especially in the context of globalization. The impact

of national upbringing through family, school, and society on the socialization of individuals is

also analyzed.

As the President has emphasized, 'Building a New Uzbekistan begins with raising a new

generation that is knowledgeable, well-mannered, patriotic, and harmonious.' This truth lies at

the core of national statehood and building a strong society. Today, one of the most pressing

tasks for every educator and parent is the upbringing of a harmonious personality. National

values, traditions, and oral folklore form the foundation of this process.

A harmonious personality is someone who is physically, morally, ethically,

intellectually, and aesthetically developed; thinks independently; knows the history and culture

of their nation; and possesses a strong sense of national pride and patriotism. Key criteria

include strong worldview, ethical conduct, thirst for knowledge, loyalty to national identity and

values, physical and spiritual health. Additionally, social interaction, civic activity, leadership,

and digital literacy are essential features that develop through broad-based education.

National upbringing is a system of values, traditions, customs, folk wisdom, and

religious beliefs passed from generation to generation. It encompasses a nation’s way of life,

cultural norms, and moral standards. The main directions of national upbringing include moral

and ethical education, aesthetic development, labor discipline, patriotism, and family ethics.

The family is the first and most important stage of national upbringing. A child first

encounters national values, respect, honor, and dignity within the family. The personal example

of parents, their adherence to traditions, and daily practices like reading, shared activities, and

cultural celebrations such as Navruz and Eid play a critical role in the child’s development.

Schools and educational institutions are essential for formalizing and reinforcing national

values. National upbringing is integrated into subjects like literature, history, music, and ethics.

Methods include using folklore, stories of historical figures, role-playing, and religious-moral

discussions. Teachers must attend seminars and training sessions to enhance their skills in

delivering culturally rich education both in and out of the classroom.

In the era of information technology and cultural influx, preserving national identity is more

important than ever. Young people are exposed to foreign influences, sometimes adopting

undesirable behaviors. To counteract this, national upbringing must be reinforced using digital

tools and content creation, such as cultural campaigns, social media challenges, and educational

vlogs that promote positive national identity. Modern information and communication

technologies play a growing role in young people's lives. Educational apps, animations, social

media channels, and multimedia lessons about folklore, idioms, and traditions can effectively

transmit knowledge and cultural values. These tools not only educate but also attract the

attention of youth.

The effectiveness of national upbringing largely depends on the teacher’s example. A

teacher's behavior, appearance, speech, and commitment to values influence students. Sharing

personal life stories and genuine advice during lessons fosters trust. A teacher should not only

be an instructor but also a mentor and guide for life.

Conclusion

The upbringing of a harmonious personality is a continuous and structured process. National

upbringing tools form its core. Families, schools, and communities must acknowledge their role

and actively participate in instilling Uzbek values in the younger generation. National

upbringing is not merely a tradition of the past but a foundation for building a modern, cultured

society.
