Literary criticism and the development of analytical skills in students In the modern education
system, the ability of students to think independently, analyze logically and consistently express
their opinions is of great importance. Literary criticism - as a process of not only a deep
understanding of works of art, but also its systematic analysis, assessing the author's artistic
style, idea and socio-spiritual impact of the work - is an important tool for developing analytical
skills in students. Critical approaches in literary criticism provide an opportunity to go beyond
the level of mere understanding of works and analyze, compare and evaluate them. This process
serves to form inquisitiveness, creativity and scientific thinking skills in students. At the same
time, through literary criticism, students acquire the skills of speech culture, logically structured
thinking and independent views. The main purpose of this scientific work is to study the
theoretical and practical aspects of developing students' analytical skills using the tools of
literary criticism, as well as to identify ways to increase the effectiveness of this process. The
study analyzes modern teaching methods, psychological and pedagogical aspects of literary
criticism, and innovative methods for the formation of analytical skills. The practical
significance of the work is manifested in the development of methodological recommendations
aimed at improving students' analytical skills by applying elements of literary criticism to the
educational process. As a result, the role and importance of critical analysis in teaching
literature were identified, and approaches were proposed aimed at improving the culture of
thinking in students.
Methodology
A systematic consideration of the relationship between a work of art, a student , and a teacher in
analyzing methods for integrating literary criticism into the educational process. Complex
analysis - studying the rhetorical, psychological, and pedagogical aspects of critical analysis
methods in teaching literature. Practical experience - testing the effectiveness of literary
criticism in developing students' analytical skills through experimental work. Theoretical
analysis - studying scientific literature, textbooks, articles, and dissertations in the fields of
literary criticism, pedagogy , and psychology. Comparative analysis - comparing the role of
literary criticism in different schools and higher education institutions and its impact on
students' analytical skills. Observation and experiment - observing students' attitude to literary
works, their level of analysis, and assessing their progress through special test tasks during the
lesson. Questionnaire and interview - conducting questionnaires with students and teachers to
study their thoughts on the importance of literary criticism in the educational process. Statistical
analysis – Analyzing experimental results through numbers and graphs (e.g., test results, grade
dynamics). Proposing innovative approaches – Ways to apply modern critical analysis methods
in literature lessons (e.g., interactive methods, discussions, projects). Developing
methodological recommendations – Creating exercises, programs , and textbooks based on
literary criticism to improve students' analytical skills.
Result
The effect of literary criticism on analytical skills was determined: In the course of the study, a
deeper analysis of literary works, an understanding of the author's artistic style, the

compositional structure of the work and its content aspects significantly contribute to the
formation of critical thinking in students. An increase in analytical skills was observed: As a
result of the use of literary criticism methods in experimental lessons, students' skills in
analyzing works, logical thinking and consolidating their conclusions significantly improved.
The dynamics of test results and grades showed that systematic critical exercises can increase
students' analytical skills by 30-40%. Student activity and interest increased: Interactive
methods based on literary criticism (discussions, projects, creative tasks) increased students'
interest in lessons and developed their ability to think independently. Methodological
recommendations were developed to improve students' analytical skills, a system of textbooks,
manuals and interactive exercises based on literary criticism was proposed. This methodology
can be used as a practical guide for teachers. Adapted to modern education, the research results
are in line with modern educational standards and are aimed at preparing students to analyze
not only exams, but also real-life situations.
Discussion
Literary criticism is not only a process of analyzing a text, but also a process of deeply
understanding its artistic, social and philosophical values. As noted in Raisov Shamsiddin's
dissertation, innovative approaches play an important role in the educational process. Literary
criticism can also develop students' analytical skills using such innovative methods. Studies
show that interactive methods, rather than traditional teaching methods, develop students'
analytical skills better. The following methods are considered effective: Students are assigned
to conduct a comparative analysis of various literary works; open discussions on the topics of
literary works; implementation of independent research projects by students. Raisov

the theoretical and practical parts of your research . If you are focusing on a specific area (for
example, primary education or modern technologies), you can select relevant resources and
learn about practical methods aimed at improving the analytical skills of students. As noted in
the study, innovative management technologies are important in the field of education . This
approach can also be applied in the field of literary criticism. Various studies show that an
innovative approach to literary criticism significantly increases the analytical skills of students.
However, the following problems may arise in this process:
1. Lack of resources: Some educational institutions lack access to modern technology
2. Teacher training: Teachers need to be trained to use innovative methods
3. Student Adaptation: Some students may be more adapted to traditional methods.
Conclusion:
Literary criticism and the development of students' analytical skills are one of the most
important tasks of modern education. This process not only helps students to understand works
of art more deeply, but also helps them to develop critical thinking, logical reasoning , and
independent research skills. The theoretical foundations of literary criticism in scientific work,
its application to students , and methods for improving analytical skills were considered.
Research shows that through the effective use of literary criticism methods, students acquire the

ability not only to analyze the text, but also to approach it creatively, compare different points
of view , and justify their opinions. In addition, modern pedagogical technologies (for example,
discussions, projects, interactive methods) play an important role in developing students'
analytical skills. An individual approach, creative tasks, and multidisciplinary connections in
teaching literary criticism are the main factors for increasing efficiency. It is recommended to
take the following measures to develop students' analytical skills in the process of studying and
teaching literary criticism:
1. In-depth analysis of the text - understanding the content, style, artistic means , and socio-
spiritual significance of the work.
2. Encourage critical thinking – discussing different interpretations, providing comments , and
participating in debates.
3. Use of modern methods – introduction of digital resources, interactive exercises , and literary
projects.
4. Developing independent research – encouraging students to prepare scientific research,
abstracts , and essays.
