Abstract:

This article highlights the role of interactive methods in increasing student

engagement in the process of primary education. The author analyzes the opportunities for

enhancing students’ interest in lessons, developing independent thinking skills, and organizing

effective learning activities through the use of interactive methods. Within the scope of the

research, experimental studies were conducted, and the results demonstrate that interactive

methods positively influence the quality and effectiveness of education for primary school

students. The scientific conclusions presented in the article are enriched with practical

recommendations.

The stage of primary education is a critical period during which a child’s personality is

formed, and their attitude towards knowledge is established. At this stage, children typically

display curiosity, independent thinking, and a desire to express themselves. Traditional teaching

methods often fall short in encouraging student activity. Therefore, the use of interactive

methods in modern educational processes is of particular importance. Interactive methods

actively involve students in the lesson, deepen the process of knowledge acquisition, and foster

independent thinking.

As the research methodology, the activities of teachers working with primary school

students were studied. Observation, surveys, interviews, and practical experimentation methods

were used during the research. Two groups of students were formed for the experiment: a

control group taught using traditional methods and an experimental group taught using

interactive methods. Interactive strategies such as “brainstorming,” “cluster,” “debate,” and

“role play” were applied in practice.

According to the results of the study, the group taught with interactive methods showed

significant improvement in classroom participation, thinking activity, and independent working

skills. In particular, the “role play” and “cluster” methods helped develop students' abilities to

analyze topics and connect them with real-life contexts. Meanwhile, students in the control

group mostly remained passive participants, which negatively affected their depth of

understanding.

The discussion results clearly indicate that interactive methods contribute to the

development of critical and creative thinking in students. Moreover, these methods help

children acquire social skills such as teamwork, justifying their opinions, listening, and

comprehension. Students’ attitudes toward learning improved, and their initiative increased

significantly during the experiment.

In conclusion, the effective use of interactive methods in the primary education process

plays an important role in increasing students' learning activity, stimulating their interest in

acquiring knowledge, and ensuring their personal development. If teachers select interactive

approaches appropriate to the lesson content, it will positively impact not only educational

outcomes but also the students' overall personal growth.
