Annotation.

The article discusses a system of exercises in teaching the stylistics of the Russian

language adverb to students of foreign language groups. The scientific article also presents

exercises in the stylistics of the Russian language adverb, which are aimed at forming and

developing knowledge about the language system; forming and developing the skills and

abilities of analyzing language material; forming and developing the skills and abilities of

speech activity.

Key words:

Functional stylistics, adverb stylistics, Russian language, system of exercises,

teaching methods, language system, analysis of language material, speech activity.

The development of an exercise system is an important issue in teaching Russian to

students of foreign language groups. Various classifications of the exercise system are known in

the scientific and methodological literature. They are "... based on the dichotomy of language

and speech, on the distinction between linguistic statics and linguistic dynamics, that is,

students should reflect the statics and dynamics of language, which are closely interrelated. For

proficiency in the Russian language as a means of professional activity, it is necessary that the

individual's consciousness be fully reflected (formed) statics (language theory, language

structure, language structure, communication system) and language dynamics (implementation

of this system, the actual process of speech activity)". [1, p. 196]

Russian students who study Russian as a non-native language need to create an effective

system of exercises when teaching the stylistics and stylistic properties of Russian dialects,

which is an important problem.

This exercise system is based on L.V. Shcherba's concept and consists of three types:1)

exercises for the forming and developing of knowledge about the language system; 2) exercises

for the forming and developing of skills and analysis of linguistic material; 3) exercises for the

forming and developing of skills and abilities of speech activity [1, p. 196-199].

Exercises for the forming and developing of knowledge about the language system

include both exercises (tasks) in the form of questions, and exercises (tasks), the main purpose

of which is assimilation (familiarization with language material, training, use, correction and

self-correction). They are built in increasing complexity, that is, from simpler questions to

more complex ones.

Students are familiar with functional speech styles from the school curriculum. They are

able to distinguish between texts related to scientific style (abstract, report), journalistic style

(informational note), official business style (statement, receipt, autobiography), colloquial style

of speech, as well as literary and artistic style. Exercises (tasks) of this type contribute to the

reproduction of topics studied in the school curriculum, for example:

1. What are the main functional styles of the modern Russian literary language?

2. Define the adverb and give examples.

3. What categories are adverbs divided into?

Further questions become more complicated, for example:

1. What do you know about conversational style? Tell us about the differences between

this style and other speech styles.

2. Name the main morphological properties and syntactic functions of adverbs in

Russian and Uzbek.

3. Do you know the ways of forming Russian dialects? What prefixes and suffixes are

used to form them? What do you think they have stylistic features? Give examples.

The performance of such exercises (tasks) requires students to generalize, compare, and

compare certain features and relate to tasks of a problematic nature. These exercises (tasks)

help to determine the level of knowledge of students at the initial and preparatory stages of

training. They may also include practical tasks of the following nature:

1. Identify a number of stylistic marks characterizing emotional-expressive and

functional-stylistic coloring: high., iron., contempt., bran., disapprove., joke., rude.; book., razg.,

region., official., simple., spec.

2. Write out from the "Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian language" by S.I. Ozhegov

and N.Yu. Shvedova several adverbs marked "razg.", "bookish."

3. What adverbs are used in the scientific style of speech: stylistically neutral, bookish,

colloquial? Give examples.

Exercises (tasks) of this nature are necessary to identify students' knowledge of the

theoretical material, to consolidate the material being studied and to prepare students for the

next, more complex tasks. Exercises (tasks) for the forming and developing of skills and

analysis of linguistic material are based on proven and acquired knowledge of the functional

stylistics and stylistic properties of the dialects of the Russian language. For example: the

correct definition of the stylistic characteristics of this grammatical category; the correct choice

of adverbs depending on the style; the distribution of lexical and stylistic units by types of

stylistic coloring; adding synonymous series of adverbs by types of stylistic coloring; selection

of synonyms for adverbs; translation of adverbs of the Russian language with suffixes of

subjective assessment into Uzbek, their comparison; making sentences with adverbs different

stylistic coloring. For example :

1. Find synonyms for adverbs. Determine their stylistic coloring according to TSOSH.

Forever, long ago, sometimes, for a long time.

2. Divide the synonymous adverbs into stylistically neutral, bookish, colloquial ones:

slowly, gradually, little by little, little by little, little by little, slowly, slowly.

3. Russian language adverbs are synonymous with the following adverbs of the Russian

language (use the synonymous dictionary of the Russian language). Determine their stylistic

coloring. In the evening, in the morning, quietly, on foot.

4. Determine the stylistic coloring of adverbs in sentences. 1. From afar, the Volga River

flows for a long time (From the song). 2. And no matter what we do, we're always together

(From the song). Exercises (tasks) of this kind are preparatory and are performed in writing.

Exercises (tasks) for the forming and developing of speech skills include: exercises

(tasks) for the forming and developing of speech skills; exercises (tasks) for the forming and

developing of communication skills (combined), i.e. combining the forming of speech and

communication skills. This type of exercise (task) is the main one and is performed

independently. For example: create a dialogue by analogy; write a mini-essay on a specific

topic using adverbs; determine the stylistic affiliation of the text; compose a story using this

grammatical category; write a story about the family traditions of your family using adverbs,

etc.

The skills acquired in the first two types of exercises (tasks) turn into speech skills of a

monological and dialogical nature, therefore this type is the most difficult. The main task of this

type of exercises (tasks) is to connect speech skills to develop speech skills. These include the

following:

1. Congratulate your loved one (dad, mom, grandma, grandpa) on his birthday, using

adverbs always, sincerely, beautifully, infinitely much, very, strongly, etc.

2. Tell us about your friend (a fellow student). Mark his business and personal qualities

of character by using these adverbs: successfully, actively, constantly, always, responsibly, in

Russian, in English, very, selflessly, regularly, diligently, etc. What style of speech would you

classify the text as?

The purpose of developing the presented special system of exercises is to form students

who study Russian as a non-native language, stylistic skills, knowledge about the functional

stylistics and stylistic properties of the adverbs of the Russian language.
