Introduction:
Scientific work in higher education
institutions is an integral part of the educational
process, contributing to the development of critical
thinking, research skills, and a deeper understanding of
the chosen discipline. In the context of the modern
educational system, the importance of scientific work
continues to grow, as it represents not only a method
of teaching but also a way of preparing future
specialists. In particular, at the Department of
Language and Literature at Ma'mun University, located
in the city of Khiva, students' scientific work includes
preparing term papers and scientific research,
participating in scientific conferences, as well as
receiving regular consultations from professors.
Professors play a key role in the process of scientific
mentorship by providing students with methodological
recommendations on writing scientific works and
advising them throughout the research process. It is
important to note that the academic advisors at the
department help students not only with their academic
preparation but also with developing a critical
approach to the studied issues, which enhances the
quality of scientific papers.
Furthermore, one of the most important aspects of
Ma'mun University's educational program is attention
to students' language preparation, which is
demonstrated by the achievements of students in the
Department of Language and Literature in mastering
the Russian language. Over 30% of students at the
department, as well as university graduates, have
successfully passed the exam for the Russian language
proficiency certificate at the C1 level (TRKI-III). This
certificate is not only a recognition of a high level of
language proficiency but also a key factor for successful
employment and career advancement.
METHODOLOGY
According to an agreement between the Testing Center
of the Russian University of Friendship of Peoples
(RUDN) named after Patrice Lumumba and Ma'mun
University, a specialized testing center for conducting

exams for the Russian language as a foreign language
(TRKI) was opened at Ma'mun University in Khiva in
2022.
The purpose of establishing this center is to provide
students and all interested individuals with the
opportunity to take certification exams for the Russian
language at various levels of difficulty, including the C1
level (TRKI-III), which confirms a high level of Russian
language proficiency. The testing center at Ma'mun
University offers convenient conditions for taking
exams, using official methods and standards that are
applied internationally.
To date, the testing center has certified over 1,000
individuals, including Ma'mun University students as
well as residents and employees of Khiva and other
regions. This initiative plays a significant role in the
development of students' language training, as
certified proficiency in the Russian language opens
additional career opportunities and enhances their
competitiveness in the global labor market.
The testing process includes all necessary sections,
evaluating listening, speaking, reading, and writing
skills, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of
language proficiency. Those who pass the exam
successfully receive an official certificate, which is
recognized in Russia and abroad. For students of
Ma'mun University and other participants, passing the
C1 (TRKI-III) exams not only confirms a high level of
Russian language knowledge but also provides
opportunities for further employment in organizations
where communication in Russian is required.
This center is also an important element of Ma'mun
University's strategic development, which is actively
working to improve the quality of education, deepen
scientific research, and create conditions for the
professional growth of students and professors.
Thus, the opening of the testing center at Ma'mun
University is an important step in developing the
educational process, improving students' language
preparation, and expanding their career opportunities
in the future.
The TRKI-III (C1) certificate is a document confirming a
high level of Russian language proficiency according to
the international scale accepted in the language
competence assessment system. This certificate is
issued based on testing conducted in accordance with
the requirements established by the Russian
Federation and international standards.
A C1 certificate, according to the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR),
indicates that its holder is capable of:
1.
Freely and confidently using Russian in
academic, professional, and social spheres.
2.
Reading and understanding complex texts,
including specialized materials, and expressing
thoughts in Russian with a high degree of accuracy and
coherence.
3.
Engaging in effective communication in a wide
range of situations, such as professional activities,
scientific research, cultural exchanges, as well as
participating in discussions and public speeches.
4.
Writing texts of varying complexity (e.g.,
scientific articles, essays, business letters, and reports),
demonstrating strong skills in argumentation and
information organization.
It is important to note that proficiency in the Russian
language not only improves the quality of scientific
work but also opens new career prospects for students,
such as the opportunity to work on international
projects and become competitive candidates in the
labor market.
In addition, the analysis of the results of students'
scientific work used indicators such as the number of
students'
publications
in
scientific
journals,
participation in scientific conferences, and the quality
of completed term papers and research. A comparison
was also made between students who received regular
consultations and help from professors and those who
did not receive such support.
RESULTS
As a result of the study, it was found that students from
the Department of Language and Literature at Ma'mun
University actively participate in the scientific life of the
university. More than 10% of students from the
department took part in the university's scientific
conferences, many of whom presented their scientific
papers, which were highly rated by both professors and
external experts. Professors play a key role in preparing
students for conferences, providing consultations,
recommendations,
and
supporting
students
throughout the preparation of scientific reports.
Special attention should be given to the results of
students in mastering the Russian language. This
certificate is not only a sign of high language proficiency
but also an important factor that significantly increases
students' competitiveness in the labor market. The C1
certificate opens up career opportunities for graduates
to work in international organizations and increases
their chances of career growth and salary increases.
An important aspect of the study was also the
identification of a connection between students'
participation in scientific life and their success in
language
proficiency.

results on certification exams for the Russian language
on average. This confirms that participation in scientific
activities contributes to improving language skills,
which in turn positively affects the quality of their
scientific research.
It was also found that students who received regular
consultations and assistance from their academic
advisors demonstrated significantly higher levels of
scientific work. For example, papers in which students
used methodological recommendations on structuring
texts and formatting references received high marks for
clarity, logic, and depth of analysis.
DISCUSSION
The results of the study show that the high
achievements of students from the Department of
Language and Literature at Ma'mun University in
scientific work are directly related to high-quality
mentorship and consultations from professors.
Professors play a key role in supporting students at all
stages of preparing scientific papers. Regular feedback,
help with topic selection and hypothesis formulation,
as well as recommendations on improving the
structure and formatting of the work, help students
achieve high results.
On the other hand, proficiency in Russian at the C1
(TRKI-III) level is an important aspect of Ma'mun
University's educational program. This certificate
opens many career opportunities for students. It is
important to note that language proficiency positively
influences the quality of scientific work, as students can
use a wider range of scientific sources and participate
in international scientific projects and conferences.
To date, the Testing Center at Ma'mun University
continues its work, and since the beginning of 2023,
111 students have received the C1 (TRKI-III) certificate.
This number includes students from all courses of the
university: 10 students from the 1st year, 17 from the
2nd year, 29 from the 3rd year, 26 from the 4th year,
and 27 graduates. Work on preparing students for
certification continues, and the university actively
supports its students in mastering the Russian
language, which contributes to their successful
integration into the international labor market.
Moreover, students who scored the highest marks on
the TRKI-III exams have the opportunity to receive
scholarships for further study, which serves as an
additional incentive for in-depth language study and
achieving high results. Such scholarships provide
students with a unique opportunity to continue their
education at the university's expense and deepen their
knowledge, which significantly increases their
competitiveness in the labor market and opens new
career horizons.
However, there is a need to further improve the
teaching and mentorship system. It is important to
increase attention to interdisciplinary projects, expand
students' participation in international conferences,
and give them the opportunity to work with a wider
range of scientific sources. It is also necessary to
develop the practical orientation of term papers and
research, guiding students toward solving real research
problems.
CONCLUSION
Thus, the scientific work of students at the Department
of Language and Literature at Ma'mun University plays
an important role in their educational process,
fostering research skills, critical thinking, and a deeper
understanding of the disciplines studied. An important
aspect is the active participation of students in the
scientific life of the university, including their
involvement in conferences and writing scientific
articles. Professors play a significant role in the quality
of
students'
work,
providing
methodological
recommendations and consultations that contribute to
improving the level of scientific papers.
In the future, it is important to continue improving the
scientific mentorship system, expanding students'
participation in international scientific events, and
deepening the practical orientation of scientific work.
This will further enhance the level of students' scientific
work and improve their professional preparation.
