PRIORITY DIRECTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE LEARNING PROCESS WITH THE
HELP OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Abstract
: This article presents information on the relevance of using artificial intelligence
systems in the education system to coordinate the activities of teachers and students, improve the
quality and transparency of education. Here are some examples of ways to improve the learning
process with the help of artificial intelligence.
Keywords
: Artificial intelligence, AI, education, applied mathematics, chatbot, neural networks,
video analysis.
INTRODUCTION
Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that is generally concerned with the
creation of computer systems with capabilities that are similar to those of human intelligence:
language understanding, learning, reasoning, problem solving, translation, and so on. Artificial
intelligence (AI) allows computers to learn from their own experience, adapt to given parameters,
and perform tasks that were previously only possible for humans. In many cases of AI
implementation - from computer chess players to unmanned vehicles - the ability to process deep
learning and natural language processing is crucial. Thanks to these technologies, computers can
be trained to perform specific tasks by processing large amounts of data and identifying patterns
in them.
LITERATURE ANALYSIS AND METHODS
Artificial intelligence is actively used in many areas of human life, including education. Today,
people all over the world have the opportunity to use modern technologies to improve the quality
of the educational process and effectively acquire the necessary professional skills.
Despite the results achieved, AI is still in its early stages of development. But even this level is
enough to bring incredible benefits to teachers and students. According to expert forecasts, the
use of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies will become a key factor in the
evolution of the entire education system in the near future. According to analytical data from
MarketsandMarkets, by 2023 the global market for artificial intelligence for education will grow
to $ 3.68 billion (an average annual growth rate of 47% since 2018).
The pandemic and the resulting need for distance learning have only accelerated the integration
of SI technologies into the education sector. According to experts at eLearning Platform Industry,
more than 47% of learning management tools will be equipped with SI capabilities in the next
few years.
METHOD AND RESULTS
As artificial intelligence is actively transforming education today, here are a few relevant ways to
improve the learning process with its help.
1. Eliminating unfairness in evaluation
Checking and evaluating student work is one of the important tasks performed by teachers.
However, humans are not always objective, so students often receive grades that do not
correspond to their actual level of knowledge. Assessment with an objective tool such as SI not

only eliminates this problem, but also relieves some of the burden on teachers and allows them to
spend more time interacting with students. [4]
Instead of spending hours checking papers, a teacher can analyze the grades given by the
program, determine which topics students find most difficult to understand, and then discuss in
detail with students the unclear questions. Automating certain tasks allows you to focus on the
learning process itself and increase its efficiency.
2. Helping teachers
This point is a natural extension of the previous one. Usually, when describing the benefits of AI
in education, the main emphasis is on how this technology helps students achieve higher
academic results. However, AI can also benefit teachers. Its capabilities allow you to automate
not only the assessment process, but also many other routine tasks, including administrative
work.
The chatbot is ready to answer common questions that teachers ask every day. And neural
networks are able to analyze the results of already held lessons, select topics and materials for
new ones, and suggest to teachers which classes should be changed.
As a result, teachers have more time and opportunities to improve the learning process and help
students.
3. Helping students
Technology has significantly expanded the educational opportunities of modern man. If earlier
only a few people had knowledge, today it is enough to have a smartphone with Internet access
to self-development and expand your understanding of the world. Developers of educational
programs and applications strive to make education a process that does not stop after graduating
from school or university, but continues throughout life. [5]
The use of AI and machine learning technologies allows you to create effective educational
programs for each student, taking into account his individual characteristics and needs. Artificial
intelligence can adapt to the student's level of knowledge, learning speed and desired goals. The
program takes into account the strengths and weaknesses of a particular student, helping him fill
the gaps in knowledge and master the necessary skills. That is why adaptive learning is
becoming increasingly popular. Special algorithms form a personalized track from a common
database of materials.
Additionally, AI tools can save money, for example, when a student needs extra lessons to
improve their knowledge of a subject due to skipping a topic or misunderstanding. So, there are
already tutoring apps that can even turn learning math into a fun game.
4. Increase motivation to learn
The educational process is perceived by many as a mandatory duty, and doing homework,
preparing for tests and exams can cause many negative emotions. However, the use of
technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, neural networks or robots in the
educational process can change this.
The use of innovations can bring a gaming element to education, making the learning process
more interactive and interesting. If teachers learn to effectively use modern technologies, this can
significantly increase the level of motivation among students, develop their interest in new
knowledge and skills.
5. Taking care of students' mental health
Video analysis SI systems help not only to determine students' attitudes towards specific topics
or assignments, to find out why students are losing interest in the subject, but also to assess their
physical and psychological health and even to detect aggression in actions.
It's no secret that the risk of suicide increases during adolescence, so not only parents, but also
teachers should pay attention to the emotional state of adolescents. And this is where artificial
intelligence technologies in the education system come in handy. For example, scientists from
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA) have developed a new machine learning algorithm
that accurately identifies adolescents with suicidal thoughts by analyzing school survey data.

A team of undergraduate and graduate students at Emory University in the United States has
created a chatbot called Emora, which is designed to help first-year students adjust to their new
lifestyle and solve everyday problems. It will also be useful for those struggling with social
isolation, anxiety, and depression - because Emora knows how to have deep conversations with
people.
CONCLUSION
This article provides a lot of additional information about the history, development, progress of
artificial intelligence, its importance and useful aspects in human life, as well as the advantages
and features of expert systems. In conclusion, it can be said that any computer, a machine with
artificial intelligence, works on the basis of the binary number system. Enough information is
given about this in the school computer science course. However, in a number system consisting
of only two digits, there are specific limitations and boundaries when performing certain
algorithms. When working with real numbers or in approximate calculations, situations arise
where the binary number system is not suitable. In 1991, mathematician David Stoutmayer
performed 18 different calculation operations using a computer program and proved that the
result was incorrect in all of them, that is, the computer (artificial intelligence) worked
incorrectly. So, there is a serious scientific basis for the fact that artificial intelligence-a computer
cannot solve all problems correctly. On this basis, it can be said that artificial intelligence is still
not able to compete with natural intelligence. And its surpassing of humans in some special cases
(mainly in mathematics) is only at the expense of speed. A thinking machine, or artificial
intelligence, remains the dream of science fiction writers and programmers for now.
