in the Republic of Uzbekistan and discusses the innovative technologies essential for effective
language acquisition.

INTRODUCTION
Since gaining independence, interest in learning foreign languages has increased in our country,
and numerous opportunities have been created for young people. As our First President, Islam
Karimov, stated:
"Nowadays, great importance is attached to foreign language teaching in our country. This, of
course, is not without reason. For our nation, which is striving to take a worthy place in the
international community and to build its great future in cooperation with foreign partners, there
is no need to overstate the importance of mastering foreign languages".
As a logical continuation of these ideas, the Presidential Decree of December 10, 2012, "On
Measures to Further Improve the System of Teaching Foreign Languages", significantly
expanded opportunities for learning foreign languages.
In our country, new methods and standards for teaching foreign languages and assessing the
knowledge and skills of foreign language teachers have been developed in accordance with the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Based on these standards,
textbooks have been created for students of general education schools and vocational colleges.
Classrooms have also been equipped with visual aids and modern information and
communication technologies in line with these requirements.
The demand for learning foreign languages is increasing day by day. The subject of foreign
languages is divided into four main aspects: reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with
specific knowledge and skills taught in each area.
Educational technologies refer to the effective use of modern information technologies in the
learning process. Introducing modern innovative technologies into the educational process aims
to enhance both the quality and effectiveness of education. In particular, the use of information
and communication technologies in foreign language learning offers numerous advantages.
The role of modern technologies in language teaching and learning is invaluable. Technological

tools are useful for each aspect of language acquisition — reading, writing, listening, and
speaking. For example, in developing listening skills, it is almost impossible to conduct the
learning process without computers, players, or CDs. Listening comprehension is one of the
most critical components of language learning, requiring the learner to simultaneously pay
attention to the speaker's pronunciation, grammar accuracy, vocabulary, and word meanings.
When using modern technologies in the educational process, it is essential that students also
possess knowledge of and ability to use information and communication technologies. Teaching
and learning foreign languages through modern technologies is considered one of the most
effective methods today.
In this process, the use of various technological tools significantly enriches the language learning
experience. For instance:
When using computers, students can both watch and listen to foreign language video
clips, presentations, dialogues, films, and cartoons;
They can also listen to radio broadcasts and watch television programs in foreign
languages;
More traditional tools such as tape recorders and cassettes may still be utilized;
CD players can also be employed. Utilizing these technical resources makes the process
of learning foreign languages more engaging and effective for students [1].
Nowadays, conducting lessons through interactive games is becoming a common practice in
schools. It is well known that game-based learning helps students demonstrate their abilities,
focus their attention, and improve their knowledge and skills while enhancing their overall
engagement and performance.
The foundation of using game-based technologies lies in activities that activate and accelerate
student engagement. According to psychologists, the psychological mechanisms of game-based
learning are rooted in fundamental human needs such as self-expression, establishing one’s place
in life, self-regulation, and realizing one’s potential. Every educational game should be based on
widely accepted teaching principles and strategies. Educational subjects must serve as the
foundation for such games.
During games, students tend to show more interest and participate more actively compared to
regular lessons. It is important to emphasize that games, first and foremost, represent a teaching
method. Students enjoy participating in game-based lessons, are motivated to win, and through
these activities, the teacher can simultaneously provide both instruction and character
development. When a student plays an English-language game and realizes, "I can speak, I can
understand, I can write," it increases their confidence and interest in learning [2].
It is widely acknowledged that in modern education, the student must be positioned as the
subject of the learning process. In this regard, greater emphasis on interactive methods

significantly increases the effectiveness of education. One of the primary goals in English
language teaching today is to develop students’ independent thinking skills. At present, English
language teachers are adopting a variety of innovative methods based on the experiences of
educators from the United States and the United Kingdom.
Some of the most effective innovative methods currently being used by English language
teachers, drawing on the experience of educators from the United States and the United Kingdom,
include the following:
Creative Problem Solving: In this method, the beginning of a story is read aloud, and students
are asked to imagine and decide how the story should end. This encourages critical and creative
thinking.
Merry Riddles: Teaching riddles in English is highly effective for vocabulary development.
Students learn unfamiliar words while thinking critically to find the correct answers.
Quick Answers: This activity helps reinforce previously covered material and increases lesson
efficiency by promoting rapid recall.
Warm-up Exercises: These include various short classroom games designed to increase students'
interest and motivation at the beginning of the lesson.
Pantomime: This method is useful for explaining difficult topics or for re-engaging students
during writing exercises when they become tired. It fosters understanding through movement and
visual expression.
A Chain Story: A collaborative storytelling method that supports the development of students’
spoken language skills.
Acting Characters (Role Plays): Suitable for all types of lessons, this method involves students
acting out roles such as "Interpreter," "Translator," "Writer," or "Poet." In vocational training
contexts, professionals in these fields can be invited to interact with students.
Thinkers’ Meeting: In this creative method, students “invite” great minds such as William
Shakespeare, Alisher Navoi, or Robert Burns into the classroom and reflect on their wise sayings.
This fosters moral development and cultural appreciation.
When Pictures Speak: This technique is particularly useful in language learning, as it helps
develop students’ speaking abilities by encouraging them to describe thematic images.
Quiz Cards: Cards are distributed among students based on the class size. This allows all
students to participate simultaneously, saving time and increasing engagement [4].
As we can see, each innovative technology and method has its own unique advantages. All of
these approaches emphasize cooperation between teacher and student, as well as the student’s
active participation in the learning process [5].

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the application of innovative methods in English language lessons fosters the
development of students' logical thinking abilities, improves their fluency, and helps form skills
for quick and accurate responses. Such methods awaken students’ interest in learning and
motivate them to prepare more thoroughly for classes. As a result, learners become active
participants in the educational process.
Since the education system aims to nurture free-thinking, well-rounded, and mature individuals,
it is essential for us — as future teachers — to continue exploring and improving effective ways
of integrating innovative technologies into our teaching practices. In doing so, we can make a
valuable contribution to the advancement of education.
