Subject. Particular attention to the analysis of cytokine production in periodontal diseases associated with stress is explained by molecular factors of the immune system secreted by both polymorphonuclear leukocytes and mononuclear cells [5, 7].
The aim of the study was to assess the role of oral cytokines in gingivitis/periodontitis of mild severity in cadets of the departmental institute against the background of psychoemotional stress Methodology. 71 cadets of the departmental institute, aged 18-23 years from 1st to 4th year, were examined. The presence of gingivitis/periodontitis of mild severity was revealed in 26 cadets (group I), and 45 cadets without periodontal lesions (group II) served as a comparison group. Immunological studies were conducted in the laborator}' of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Bashkir State University.
Results Correlation analysis confirmed the relationship between the level of IL-1 В in saliva, the development of depression and periodontal disease, and the level of such correlation was quite high (p < 0.001 ).TFR-p - was correlated only with depression, and the correlation was negative. Cytokine IL-12 tended to increase in the presence of depression and periodontal disease at the same time, although this increase was not statistically significant and was detected only at the level of correlations.
Conclusions. The main pathogenetic significance is IL-IB and TFRB, and auxiliary - IL-12 and TNFa., accompanying the development of depression and periodontal disease. At the same time, the cytokines IL-IB and TNF-a arc associated with the severity of inflammatory changes in the periodontal.
