Abstract.
This article examines contemporary methods of active interaction
in the process of teaching English at the primary level of education. The authors
highlight issues of effective use of interactive methods aimed at active
participation of students in the educational process. The article focuses on
various forms and techniques that contribute to the development of
communicative skills and understanding of language structures. The study also
covers the practical aspects of applying these methods in the context of primary
school, emphasizing their importance for the formation of linguistic competence
of younger students. The article represents a valuable contribution to the field of
methodology of teaching English in primary school, providing educators and
researchers with an extensive overview of innovative approaches to teaching.
Kеywоrds:
English language competence, foreign language teaching,
primary school students, audiovisual technologies.
Intrоduсtiоn
In the conditions of the modern world, where globalization and
internationalization play a key role, the issues of teaching English in primary
school are becoming increasingly relevant and significant. The formation of
English-language competence in primary school students is an integral part of
the educational process, providing them not only with the opportunity to master
a second language, but also to develop key communication skills.
Mаtеriаls аnd mеthоds
Let's consider modern approaches to teaching English to primary school
students based on theoretical and methodological analysis.
"Brainstorming" - this method accepts and considers the answer of each
student separately, while their answers are not assessed immediately, but are
written down in a notebook or on the board. After all the answers are written
down, students give their arguments, refutations, arguments, etc. for each of the
opinions and decide which of them is the best. At the same time, students can

freely exchange their thoughts and ideas that arise in their heads, as well as
develop existing ideas of other students.
According to the study of F. A. Saglam, which considers the possibilities of
gamification in teaching primary school students, such methods are supported
in the context of active and interactive learning. Gamification, as one of the
modern pedagogical trends, seeks to make learning fun and effective, including
elements of the gaming process in educational practice [2].
R. R. Khayrutdinov, A. R. Fayzullina, F. A. Saglam in their research consider
interactive methods in interaction with students in detail [5]; [6].
"Case method" - this method is based on the description of a real situation
and the solution of various problems based on this situation. The tasks are
varied, from standard to extreme. The case method helps to activate students in
the classroom, stimulate their learning activities, and makes their achievements
brighter. Students analyze a problem situation, try to understand the essence of
the problem, after which they offer solutions to this problem and jointly choose
the best of them.
"Collective solutions to creative problems" - this method is a set of
problems that imply a creative approach to their solution, and not just the
reproduction of previously studied material. This specificity is due to the fact
that these tasks are quite vague and undefined, which automatically stimulates
students to search for creative solutions. "Training" is a method in which a
certain algorithm of tasks, actions or game situations is built, which are aimed at
achieving the necessary result or fully practicing a certain skill or ability.
"Project method" - this method is characterized by the unification of students
into small groups that are engaged in the development of a kind of project on a
certain topic.
Rеsults аnd disсussiоn
Modern researchers believe that it is possible to approach project topics
from different angles, which will determine the degree of freedom and creativity
of students. At the same time, in developing projects, it is also possible to take
into account the features of an inclusive educational environment [1].
Each group can be given a specific topic, a list of topics to choose from, from
which each group can choose a topic for itself, and the last option is a project on
a free topic. Work on a project, according to the observations of F. A. Saglam, A.
S. Golynskaya, includes several stages, each of which allows you to develop
students' creativity, logical thinking, stimulate research activities, develop new
bright ideas and apply their skills, abilities and talents. The project method has a

number of advantages, such as organizing completely independent work, but
according to a previously planned plan and within the framework of classes
specially allocated for considering projects [4].
"Sparring" is a method based on the rivalry of two students with each other.
When organizing such a method, the class is divided into pairs, in each of which
the students become sparring partners for each other. The main driving force of
this method is competitive motivation, which encourages students to find faster,
more reliable and correct solutions to the tasks. In this case, the teacher sets an
algorithm in advance, according to which it is necessary to complete the
competition, passing certain levels of tasks [3].
Technology has transformed the way English is taught in primary schools.
Digital tools, such as interactive whiteboards, mobile apps, and online games,
make learning more engaging and effective.
Key Features:
Use of educational apps like Duolingo, Kahoot, and Quizlet for vocabulary
building.
Digital storytelling and animated videos to enhance listening and
comprehension skills.
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) for immersive language
experiences.
Benefits:
Increases student motivation and engagement.
Provides instant feedback and self-paced learning.
Bridges the gap between traditional and modern education.
Total Physical Response (TPR) is a teaching approach that combines
language learning with physical movement. This method is highly effective for
primary school students as it aligns with their natural inclination to learn
through play.
Key Features:
Students respond to verbal commands with physical actions (e.g., "stand
up," "clap your hands").
Learning is reinforced through kinesthetic activities such as songs, dances,
and games.
Reduces stress and anxiety in language learning.
Storytelling is a powerful tool in language learning, especially for young
learners. Reading and listening to stories help students develop vocabulary,
comprehension, and pronunciation skills.

Key Features:
Use of picture books, fables, and fairy tales to introduce new words and
sentence structures.
Encouraging students to retell stories in their own words.
Interactive activities such as puppet shows, dramatizations, and creative
writing.
Modern methods of teaching English to primary school students focus on
making learning interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable. Approaches such as
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Task-Based Language Teaching
(TBLT), technology integration, Total Physical Response (TPR), storytelling, and
gamification have proven to be effective in improving students' language skills.
By adopting these strategies, educators can create a dynamic learning
environment that fosters language acquisition and encourages lifelong learning.
Соnсlusiоn
Thus, the relevance of the study of active interaction methods in teaching
English is due to the rapid development of educational technologies, as well as
the need for effective and innovative methods that contribute to the successful
adaptation of students to the requirements of modern society. In this context,
the presented article is aimed at researching and analyzing active interaction
methods in the process of teaching English in primary school in order to identify
their role in the formation of language competence in younger students.
