Introduction

Both clinical precision and efficient communication within the healthcare

system depend on the creation and application of medical language. The
dynamics of medical terminology become even more complicated in multilingual
nations or areas where languages interact politically and culturally. The
linguistic characteristics of medical terminology in Russian and Uzbek, two
languages that have been entwined as a result of historical and sociopolitical
influences, are the main topic of this article. [4,10,11] .

Particularly Russian has long affected Uzbek medical terminology with its

substantial scientific and medical contributions. However, the medical lexicon
has also changed as a result of recent changes in Uzbekistan's language policy
and national identity. This interaction between the two languages offers a rare
chance to investigate the borrowing, adaptation, and occasional replacement of
medical words. This study intends to illustrate the linguistic processes that
underpin medical nomenclature in different languages by analyzing the
etymology, morphology, and semantics of a few chosen medical phrases. In
addition to offering insights into the composition and development of medical
terminology, the examination will go over the consequences for medical
translation and communication in bilingual or multilingual settings. By
investigating these linguistic features, the article seeks to contribute to a deeper
understanding of how medical language functions across different linguistic
landscapes, enhancing the efficacy of healthcare delivery in linguistically diverse
settings [1,2,3,9].

The field of medicine is characterized by its vast array of specialized

terminology, essential for effective communication among healthcare
professionals and patients. Medical terminology encompasses a rich tapestry of
linguistic features, including etymology, morphology, and semantic nuances,
which reflect the cultural and historical contexts of the languages in which they
are used. In the multilingual context of Central Asia, particularly in Uzbekistan
where the Uzbek language is predominant and Russian remains widely spoken,
the study of medical terminology assumes unique significance. [5,6,7,8] This
article studies the lin guistic features of medical terms in the Uzbek and Russian
languages, shedding light on their origins, structures, and usage patterns. By
conducting a comparative analysis, we aim to uncover both the similarities and
differences between medical terminology in Uzbek and Russian, thereby
enhancing cross-cultural understanding and facilitating effective communication
in medical contexts.

A review of the literature. Important cultural, historical, and technological

aspects that are essential for public health literacy and professional
communication are reflected in the junction of language and medicine. The
works that examine the terminological structures and translational complexities
found in the medical lexicons of Uzbekistan and Russia are examined in depth in
this overview of the literature. Rustamova gives a thorough historical account of
Uzbekistan's medical practices, including how Russian medical terminology was
used throughout the Soviet era. Understanding the contemporary terminology
used in Uzbek medical practice requires knowledge of this background. [12,13].

Madvaliev talks about more general topics related to Uzbek lexicography

and terminological development, emphasizing how Uzbek medical terminology
changed throughout the post-Soviet Union linguistic and nationalistic
renaissance. His work emphasizes the need to strike a balance between cultural
preservation and modernization. By creating a groundbreaking Russian-Uzbek
medical lexicon, Torakulov helped to close language barriers and advance
medical practice and education. A key source that demonstrates the extent of
Russian influence on Uzbek medical terminology is this work. Maseeva looks at
the terminological systems in Russian, English, and Uzbek, emphasizing how
medical terminology have changed structurally and functionally in different
languages. [3]
Her research highlights the difficulties of integrating multilingual
terminologies in medical practice and education. In Uzbek linguistics,
Akbarkhodzhaeva brings up current concerns about the research and
development of medical terminology. [12]
