THEME: METHOD OF ORGANIZING TEACHING (DESCRIPTION,
EXPLANATION, DEMONSTRATION, ILLUSTRATION, VIDEO
METHOD).

Annotation. Description method: This method involves the teacher providing
a detailed verbal explanation of a concept or topic. It is usually used for
introducing new material or providing background information
.
Explanation method: This is a more in-depth form of teaching where the
teacher explains the 'how' and 'why' of a concept or theory, addressing both
theoretical understanding and practical application.
Demonstration method: In the demonstration method, the teacher shows
students how something is done or how a process works. It is often used in subjects
that require hands-on skills like science experiments, mathematics, or art.
The illustration method uses visual aids such as pictures, diagrams, charts,
graphs, or even physical objects to clarify a concept or explain a process.
The video method uses video clips or full-length films as a teaching tool to
present information, demonstrate processes, or illustrate real-life situations.
Each method is effective in different teaching scenarios, and combining these
strategies can provide a well-rounded learning experience.

Organizing teaching effectively is crucial for facilitating learning and
ensuring that students grasp the material being presented. Various methods can be
employed to structure lessons, each with its own strengths and applications. Below
is a description and explanation of several teaching methods, including
demonstration, illustration, and video methods.
▎
1. Description
Description involves providing a detailed account of a concept, process, or
subject matter. This method is often used to introduce new topics or clarify complex
ideas.
• Explanation: The teacher explains the key features, characteristics, and
significance of the topic.
• Application: This method is effective for theoretical subjects where
understanding foundational knowledge is essential.
▎
2. Explanation
Explanation is a method where the instructor elaborates on concepts, theories,
or processes to enhance student understanding. It often involves breaking down
information into manageable parts.

• Explanation: The teacher uses clear language and examples to make the
content relatable and understandable.
• Application: This method works well in both lecture settings and interactive
discussions, allowing for questions and clarifications.
▎
3. Demonstration
Demonstration involves showing students how to perform a task or process
step-by-step. This method is particularly effective for practical subjects such as
science experiments, cooking, or technical skills.
• Explanation: The teacher performs the task while explaining each step,
highlighting important details and techniques.
• Application: Demonstrations can be live (in-person) or recorded (for online
learning), making them versatile for various teaching environments.
▎
4. Illustration
Illustration uses visual aids to enhance understanding and retention of
information. This can include diagrams, charts, graphs, and images that
complement the verbal explanation.
• Explanation: Visual aids help clarify complex ideas by providing a visual
representation of the material.
• Application: Illustrations are particularly useful in subjects like
mathematics, science, and art, where visual context can aid comprehension.

Video Method involves using video recordings to present information or
demonstrate processes. This method leverages multimedia to engage students and
cater to different learning styles.
• Explanation: Videos can combine visuals, audio, and text to create a rich
learning experience. They can feature lectures, tutorials, documentaries, or
animations.
• Application: Videos are effective for remote learning and can be used as
supplementary materials or as primary instructional tools in various subjects.
▎
Conclusion
Each of these methods has its unique advantages and can be employed based
on the learning objectives and the needs of the students. Effective teaching often
involves a combination of these methods to cater to diverse learning styles and
enhance overall understanding. By thoughtfully organizing lessons using
description, explanation, demonstration, illustration, and video methods, educators
can create a more engaging and impactful learning experience.
The methods of organizing teaching refer to strategies used by educators to
structure and present content to maximize student learning. These methods help
guide how information is introduced, explained, and reinforced. The choice of
method depends on the content being taught, the learning objectives, and the needs
of the students.
The method of organizing teaching involves choosing the right approach
based on the content, students’ learning styles, and educational objectives. While
some methods, like description and explanation, focus on knowledge transfer,
others like demonstration and video methods enhance understanding through visual
and practical means. Blending different methods, such as combining illustration
with explanation, can provide a richer learning experience for students.
