Annotation:

This article illustrates what is the online learning, its importance, what

are the advantages and disadvantages of this alternative of education and it is about
how much the influence of e-learning increased after the pandemic, challenges and
successes it was emerged at universities around the world.

Online learning means that people study remotely. It’s also called Distance Learning
or E-learning. Online or e-learning meets the needs of some students who are not able
to or prefer not to participate in traditional classroom settings. Distant learning
provides an excellent method of course delivery unbound by time or place giving a
chance for accessibility to instruction at anytime from anywhere. Learners find the
online environment a convenient way to fit education into their hasty live styles. It’s
crucial to look for credible places to study. So online learning means students can do
it from anywhere, wherever they are in the world. Online education enables the
teacher and the pupil to set their own learning pace, and there is a schedule that is
appropriate for everyone’s agenda. These learners include those who cannot find a
particular lesson at their chosen institution, who live in remote locations, who simply
want to learn independently, who have a full-time job. The minimum requirement for
students to participate in an online course is access to a computer or smart phones,
the Internet, and the motivation to succeed in a non-traditional classroom. Classes,
assessments and teaching materials are all delivered via the internet. It is also possible
to record classes so that they can be re-watched. Student will find everything from
degrees, practice tests online to short courses.

Online learning can also reduce costs for students. Besides, studying online teaches
you vital

time-management skills

, which makes finding a good work-study balance

more convenient. Online learning continues to surge in popularity, not just because
of us all staying at home more, also several factors play a key role. As a result,
distance learning better fits our modern life.

There is a social side to classroom learning which is hard to recreate online. However,
digital meeting software like Zoom has adopted a ‘rooms’ feature, where students can
do their group works breaking into small groups. This can help people to the feeling
of connection. At Hult Business School in Boston, they have students joining

classes online

from all over the world and have managed to create a sense of

teamwork and community through Virtual Breakout Rooms where students can learn
in smaller peer-to-peer groups, chat and share their different views.

Next, self-motivation can be hard with online learning. It demands good time-
management, and studying routine to keep going. With an increasing move to online
teaching, professors are continually looking into how to make online learning fun and
more engaging. Reminding yourself why you are doing the learning can be useful.
Taking a walk around the block for air can often restore your motivation too. It is
about investigating what works for you. Another thing to watch out is screen fatigue.
It is apparent. So students should take walk around the block. Breaks in schedule,
installing blue light filters - like f.lux - on their screens can really be urgent help for
themselves.

Professors at Hult university also teach in the art tech-enabled classrooms. Intelligent
speaker-tracking cameras capture teachers and students every expression, words, as
360° ceiling microphones block out background noise, sound for an immersive,
interactive learning and teaching experience- either on or offline. You can now study
everything from short courses online to a degree and in almost any subject.

In early 2020, Covid-19 forced countries across Latin America to take measures to
prevent children, adults and young people from diseases taking away from schools.
In many countries, educational quarantines have been declared as part of efforts to
stop the pandemic. As the pandemic may not be over, three MIT International Science
and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) programs:

, and

MIT-

Mexico

, managed to put together a panel of experts and researchers to discuss various

solutions, explore new, necessary opportunities.

The safety measures will put their own strain on education, from lack of access to
running water in rural areas to shortened hours of schooling during the day, making
it more difficult to curb long-term effects on education. Schmelkes recommended
possible solutions for ensuring equity, with special attention to areas and
communities that had no chance to education during this time, a re-evaluation of
educational assessments, and more.
