DISTANCE LEARNING AS SAFETY MEANS OF PROVIDING LIFE
–
LONG EDUCATION

Annotation.
The thesis covers the matters of distance life-long education by
answering the following questions: Are outdated traditional education, distance
education, information technological infrastructure, partenships and financial
resources common problematic issues facing many of the educational institutions in
our world today? With this into considerations, are these issues vital in order to
stabilize the political and economic embroidery od an institution or organization
and its psycological and socialogical awareness? What is it that is to be learned and
tought in our institutions and, what realy is lifelong education; and how is to be
carried out in the society of ours? It is found that education may be the training of
the mind to perform desire functions or to perpetuate the modality of obtaining an
end or result. Actually, the accessibility of distance education by lifelong learners
may be hindered by unavailability of enough technical and economical supports.

RELEVANCE
Distance learning refers to any education provided without the teacher and
students being physically present together
.
Nowadays distance learning has
become popular and more interactive with the use of video conferencing soft
ware. That improves the ability to acquire and retain knowledge on a given
subject. Distance education supports so called life-long learners as it provides
them to be focused on personal development. Life-long learning that occurs
outside of a formal educational institute is restricted to informal education. Life-
long learning can help us to achieve personal fulfilment and satisfaction also,
recognizes that humans have a natural drive to explore,learn and grow,improve
quality of life and sense of self-worth by paying attention to the ideas and goals
that inspire us
.
Aim
of the thesis is to analyze advantages of distance learning and promote
it to adult learners as a safety, cheap, mobile and available for all kind of life-long
education.
MATERIALS
Distance learning might be the best choice for someone and might not be
the best for others to pursue a college degree or University program. Therefore,
understanding the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning programs
is very important. The advantages are as follows:

1. Flexibility
–
Mostly those who are working enrolls for the distance
learning programmes. The programms allows these students to find a convienient
time to study and work together any time. Also, learning materials and
instructions can be obtained online any time from educational platforms
.
2. Cost saving- It eliminates the additional costs like commuting, renting
and getting meal plans. It means that distance learning is basically viable for
students as well as parents.
3. No commuting
–
The students can take the assignments and lessons
according to their comfort zones. All the lectures and tutorials through online
mode and any time.
Among the disadvantages of distant learning is:
1. Lack of social interaction
2. High chance of distraction
3. Complicated technology
Questionable credibility of online degrees
Many life-long learners, actually, try to learn in safe environment which is
just the appropriateness of distance education. Safety is an issue when discussing
learning methods of life -long learners. We have to create a safe context for
learning that is appropriate for adults and have to challenge them accordingly; by
doing this we will see that their knowledge will rise (Vella.2005). We have to
provide a site such computer internet site for learners to explore the uncertainty
of any skill or theory, providing a safe place for thinking that is needed if their
learning is to be relevant to their unique context. Safety enables the teacher to
create an inviting setting atmosphere for adult learners. Adults have shown that
they are not only willing to adapt to changes but ready and eager to learn when
they feel safe in the learingenvironment. Trust in the competence of the design
and skills of the teacher enable the learners to feel safe (Vella, 2002) The trust in
the feasibility of the objectives and relevance of these objectives also makes adult
learner feel safe.
There is such a term Lifelong Learning Skills (LLS) in educational system.
Why should everyone gain them? Such kind of skills provides the foundation for
learning and working. They broadly support student thinking, self-management
and social interaction, enabling the pursuit of education and career goals.
Examples of life long learning include Internships, apprenticeships, vocational
courses, teaching yourself new things, etc.
CONCLUSION
We can conclude that education is a vital component in sicializing process
that requires pursuit. Everyone can choose the type and way to get education. It
depends on age, purpose, abilities, possibilities. Distant learning as a kind of
learning has its own peculiarities, benefits. As a modern type of education it has
become very popular and available. Learners of different ages are users of such
kind education to be up-to-date. It has no limitations and is called lifelong

education. Being lifelong learner means to be eager to know more, develop new
skills, demonstrate that smn is keen to learn and develop, get more personal
satisfaction from life and job and it is rewarding process.
