Annotation:
Updating educational objectives in mathematics lessons is a crucial
aspect of the modern education system. This process helps to refresh mathematical
knowledge and improve the quality of education. The implementation of advanced
teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches aims to increase students'
interest in mathematics, as well as teach them to think critically and solve problems. The
updated educational objectives offer more effective and interactive lessons, enhancing
students' success in learning mathematics.

INTRODUCTION
In today's era of globalization, information technologies, and digital transformation,
new challenges have emerged for the education system. Especially in mathematics, it is
crucial to
real-life problems. Traditional educational goals are now being replaced by competency-
based approaches, functional literacy, and objectives aimed at developing creative
thinking. This article analyzes how educational goals are being updated in mathematics
lessons, the essence of these updates, and their impact on the quality of education.
METHODS AND LITERATURE REVIEW
The research was conducted using the following methods:
- Analysis of normative and legal documents: The Strategy for the Development of
Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021 2025, curriculum programs, and state
educational standards were studied.
- Comparative analysis: Educational objectives from mathematics lessons in 2010
were compared with updated objectives in 2023.
- Empirical methods: Observations were conducted in grades 7 9 at 5 schools in
Tashkent and Fergana regions. Surveys were conducted with 20 mathematics teachers and
80 students.
RESULTS
The analysis revealed the following changes:
The curriculum for mathematics explicitly defines new objectives such as:
-
- Preparing for real life through solving practical tasks;
- Teaching the use of digital technologies (GeoGebra, Desmos, Excel);
- Promoting teamwork and problem-solving;
- Enhancing independent research skills.
According to the survey results:
- 85% of teachers stated that the new objectives have improved lesson effectiveness;
- 70% of students reported that mathematics lessons are becoming more practical and
engaging;
- Students' average annual rating scores increased by 0.6 points compared to 2022.
DISCUSSION
The updated educational objectives, especially those based on a competency-based
approach, have directed students toward activeness, independent thinking, and practical

application. These changes placed students at the center of the learning process and
tor. Furthermore, the new
objectives encourage an integrated approach by linking mathematical knowledge with
other subjects. However, the lack of technical equipment in some schools and teachers'
limited digital skills hinder the full implementation of these new objectives.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, updating educational goals in mathematics is not only a demand of the
time but also a necessity for the comprehensive development of students. New approaches
ependence, creativity, and practical
knowledge. This plays a key role in improving the quality of education. In the future, to
fully implement the updated objectives, it is essential to retrain teachers in modern
methods and provide technical support.
