Introduction
Currently, the process of globalization demands a new approach to
language learning, translation activities, and philological research. Learning
foreign languages is recognized not only as a means of communication but also
as a fundamental factor in scientific, cultural, and economic collaboration.
According to UNESCO, over 1.5 billion people worldwide are learning foreign
languages, which increases the need for effective, innovative methods in
language teaching. Therefore, in the education system, interactive technologies,
artificial intelligence, advanced pedagogical methods, and digital tools are taking
center stage.
The resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 19,
2021, on 'Additional measures to promote the learning of foreign languages' also
involves the implementation of innovative approaches in language learning. This
article analyzes these critical issues from both scientific and practical
perspectives.
Main part
1.
Innovative methods in teaching foreign languages:
As a result of the rapid development of educational technologies in the 21st
century, interactive and modern methods are being widely implemented. For

instance, through the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning)
methodology, students learn subjects in a foreign language. Additionally, the
learning process is organized in a game format through gamification, which
enhances motivation. In UNESCO's 2020 report, it was found that students
learning with interactive platforms assimilate the language 30–40% faster than
those using traditional methods.
Digital platforms such as Moodle, Edmodo, Duolingo, Quizlet, and Kahoot
encourage students' independent work and allow for the individualization of
learning. The number of modern smart classrooms is also increasing in
Uzbekistan's schools, and virtual education platforms are being widely
implemented.
2.
Artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies:
AI (artificial intelligence) provides individualized approaches in language
learning, automatically detects errors, and suggests corrections. For example,
Grammarly analyzes grammar, while DeepL translates text based on context.
Through virtual reality (VR), users engage in communication in realistic
conditions as if they have traveled abroad.
According to statistical data, training sessions that utilize VR technology are
60% more memorable compared to traditional classes. This confirms the
effectiveness of the technology.
3.
Modern technologies in translation studies:
The introduction of CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools in
translation activities accelerates the work of translators and improves quality.
SDL Trados, MemoQ, and Wordfast programs have translation memory,
terminology databases, and automatic analysis systems. According to the 2022
international conference of translators, translators who use CAT tools can
translate twice as much text in a shorter time.
Additionally, automatic translation systems like Google Translate and
DeepL operate based on artificial neural networks and are continuously
updated.
4.
New methodologies in philological research:
In philological research, in addition to traditional styles, modern
methodologies such as corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics, and discourse
analysis are being widely used.
For example, thousands of texts can be automatically analyzed through
corpus linguistics to identify general language norms, neologisms, and trends.

Intercultural communication and linguometric research allow for a broader
analysis of the content of texts. With the help of artificial intelligence, texts are
also being automatically analyzed semantically and pragmatically.
5.
The effectiveness of innovative approaches in the educational process:
Experimental studies show that students who learn a language through
innovative methods become more active in communication, able to think
independently, and can express their thoughts clearly in a foreign language.
According to an experiment conducted in 10 higher education institutions in
Uzbekistan in 2023, the language acquisition rate of students in groups taught
with innovative methods was 45% higher.
Interactive lessons, role-playing games, and real-life based tasks increase
students' engagement and interest in the language. The strengthening of
independent learning helps them develop practical skills.
Conclusion
The introduction of innovative approaches in the fields of teaching foreign
languages, translation studies, and philological research today serves not only to
improve the quality of education but also to prepare competitive specialists in
the international arena. Statistics and research show the high effectiveness of
innovative methods.
In this regard, the implementation of modern technologies in education,
regular updating of methodological approaches, and proper use of digital tools
will significantly improve the quality of language learning, translation, and
scientific research. This, in turn, will create a solid foundation for training
personnel with scientific and creative potential.
