The article analyzes the scientific research of Najmiddin Kamilov on the study of the history of Sufism. Scientific and methodological aspects of studying Sufi teachings are highlighted based on Professor N.Kamilov's scientific views on the emergence, formation period, and stages of development of Sufi teachings. The specific features of N.Kamilov's research on the history of Sufism, his research methodology, and conceptual approaches are systematically analyzed. Scientific approaches to the classification of periods of asceticism, mystical knowledge, and love in Sufism, as well as the relationship between Sufism and futuwwat, are revealed through the views of N.Kamilov.
