Adabiyot insonning umumiy me`rosi hisoblanib , dunyo
xalqlari o`rtasidagi madaniy va ijtimoiy ko`prik vazifasini bajaradi. Adabiy
aloqalar xalqlar orasidagi estetik va g`oyalar almashinuvi vazifasini bajaradi.
Dunyoda bir necha minglab tillar borligini hisobga olsak, qardosh xalqlar va
boshqa millatlarning asarlaridan bahra olish uchun tarjimashunoslik sohasi
muhim sanaladi. Bundan tashqari tarjimashunoslik sohasi xalqlar orasidagi
madaniy to`siqlarni yengib o`tib , boshqa tillardagi adabiy asarlardan
bahramand bo`lish va inson dunyoqarashini shakllantirishda bu sohaning o`rni
beqiyosdir .
