It is known that Ishakhon Tora Ibrat's (1874–1922) “History of Fergana” is a valuable source of information on the social, cultural and diplomatic history of the entire valley and even neighboring Kyrgyzstan, Kashgar, Tajikistan, Turkestan, parts of Kazakhstan are political,, which belonged to the territory of the Kokand Khanate at that time. It also contains information on the history of architectural monuments in these areas. They can be classified into three groups: 1) The play compiles the history of who built the monument, when and where; 2) The history of the monument is filled with new information; 3) Religious legends about the monument are given.


The article illustrates these groups on the basis of examples and shows the importance of Ishakhon Tora Ibrat's work “History of Fergana” in filling in the information on the history of architectural monuments of Fergana.

Legends and myths in Karakalpak folklore related to the origin of some toponyms in Karakalpak epics are analyzed. The peculiarities of the population's naming of geographical objects are studied. Toponyms in Karakalpak epics such as "Adak kala", "Konyrat", "Khorezm", "Chimbai", "Bagdad", "Nur ata" are analyzed. It was noted that the naming of geographical objects by the Karakalpak people is often associated with human names.

This article is devoted to the history of creation of the works of Alisher Navoi. It considers the history of the collection “Hazoin ul - Maoniy” (“Тreasury of Thoughts”), the poem Saddi Iskandari (Alexander’s Wall) and the religious work Siroj ul-Muslimin (“The Light of Muslims”). The author pays special attention to such issues as the time of compilation of “Hazoin ul –Maoniy “(“Treasury of Thoughts”) and in what period of the poet’s life and conditions the poems were included in the collection. Conclusions obtained because of author’s research are set out in the end of the article. The article also clarified the issue related to the history of the creation of Siroj ul –Muslimin (“The Light of Muslims”).

One of the leading linguists, translators and German scholars who has played a significant role in Uzbek and German linguistics is the candidate of philological sciences, professor Imyaminova Shukhratkhon Salijanovna. Sh.S. Imyaminova was born in Maslakhat village of Altynkul district of Andijan region in an educated family. He began his pedagogical career in 1975-1977 as a teacher of German at the secondary school No. 60 in the village of Maslahat, Altynkul district, Andijan region. In 1977-1978 he worked as a teacher at the Department of German for junior courses of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Andijan State Pedagogical Institute of Languages. Sh.S.Imyaminova worked tirelessly as a young specialist and had a strong love for pedagogy (their family is a dynasty of teachers). Due to his diligence, diligence, dedication and love for his profession, the department in 1978-1980 sent a young specialist to study at the Tashkent State Institute of Foreign Languages (now UzSWLU) at the Faculty of German Philology for a two-year Higher Pedagogical Course.

The main objectives of the course “Pedagogy and Psychology” are outlined, aimed at the formation of general cultural, professional and general professional competencies of future specialists in higher education. The author focuses on the value of the competence-based approach in education, which consists in focusing on the personality of the student in all spheres and areas of activity. The communicative competence is considered by the author as the most important indicator of the teacher's professionalism.
