Through this article, you will get acquainted with the advantages and disadvantages of
distance learning, as well as its relevance in the medical field.
The objective
is to examine the opinions of students on the online learning system today. Of
course, with the development of technology in the current globalization period, a number of
amenities are being created for people.one of these is distance learning. Especially in the current
pandemic period, the demand for distance learning has increased. The issue of the application of such
a form of education in medical institutions remains controversial. On the one hand, the advantages
of distance learning are the simultaneous teaching of many students, facilitating the learning process,
teaching the disabled, in production - teaching using modern software and technical tools makes e-
learning more effective. Another effective aspect of distance learning is that the learner will be able
to get an education without leaving her home at ease. Another aspect of online education is that
distance learning is considered cheaper than traditional education. At the same time, the active
growth of the industry will help improve the quality of more choices and content.
For Example, I. M. At the Moscow Medical Academy named after Sechenov, active work is
being carried out on the introduction of distance learning technologies into the educational process.
The Department of Family Medicine of the Faculty of postgraduate professional education has
developed a distance course "fundamentals of distance education technologies in higher medical
education", which will help prepare teachers for the use of distance education. Between the years
2012-2017, online education has increased by 23% in the world.
Of course, as there are advantages to distance learning, there are several disadvantages to it.
When studying in the distance system, students can only theoretically pass their knowledge. But in
addition to the fact that there is theoretical knowledge in students in medicine, it is also necessary
that this knowledge can be widely used in practice. Moreover, in online education there is no
possibility of this. Of course, to get an online education, the internet system is also necessary to be
developed. Given the internet system in our area, we can say how many problems we face when it
comes to online education for our students living in remote areas.in addition, in the students, in
material terms, both appear in them a lot of difficult. Another disadvantage of online education is
that it does not give students enough control.in this case, it is difficult for the teacher to control to
what extent the student is mastering the given tasks. Lectures or practical classes in distance
education students lack context, communication and discussion.
Online education will be limited to the way people communicate. The idea that the rich do
not stick to the screens, but are willing to pay for human interaction, was announced in the sensational
article of the New York Times newspaper. Human communication is very important. This is not only
because it is financially more expensive than distance learning, but also because communication is
actually more valued in traditional education.
In conclusion
, we can say that while we have considered the shortcomings of error with the
demand for education, we can now develop the quality of online education with modern technologies
and use it in the medical field.
