Basics:
In today’s society, an education is an essential in order to be successful economically and
socially.
Relevance:
Why it is important to learn a foreign language? The answer is obvious- to have access
to flow of new information, innovative forms of treatment, to be able to discuss with colleagues from
different countries or even continents. In short, languages unite people who want to share the knowledge.
Skills
: Learning specific language, in my case it is English, requires certain skills such as reading,
writing, speaking, listening, taking notes, searching, highlighting text etc.
Use in medicine
: If you succeed all above listed skills you can combine them and use it to do your
job, for example you can read scientific journals and take notes, or to do a simple search on the internet
you need writing, reading, highlighting stills all together, or to connect with colleagues from all around
the world, using professional terminology.
Grammar minimum
: So to be able to use all those skills you need to have a strong grammatical
base, rich vocabulary and be able to understand what you're reading or listening.
Main goal of the paper:
is to make it easier for students to learn medical English. Obtain more
terminology within short period. I will describe FLASHCARD METHOD: In this method, flashcards are
sorted into groups according to how well the learner knows each one in the learning box. The learners
try to recall the solution written on a flashcard. If they succeed, they send the card to the next group. If
they fail, they send it back to the first group.
Flashcards are effective because they make you pull information out of your memory (instead of
just reading it), and this helps you do tests better. How does this method work? Students make their own
flashcards, it is recommended to mix pictures and words, connect new information with something they
already know (it’s called mnemonic device and it used to creat e mental connections) thanks to this
method new information will be easily assimilated. There should only one question per card. The
important part of this method is to say answers out loudly when answering. Using this method students
improve their speaking skills, which is very important, writing also will be improved when they write
down questions and answers, of course before making flashcards students should search up for
information, so searching and highlighting is also being developed.
