Evaluation of the influence of physical and chemical parameters of vaginal mucus on the percentage of fertility in cows

In this paper, the relationship between changes in the amount of hormones and various substances in the vaginal mucus of animals during ovulation is determined. A physico-chemical analysis of the vaginal mucus of cows was carried out. It was found that an increase in the concentration of estrogen in the blood of cows during estrus leads to a change in the viscosity of cervical mucus and an increase in the amount of glucose in it (1% or 56.0 mmol/ l). When determining the effect of pH on the percentage of fertilization, it was found that 6 out of 16 cows became pregnant after the 1st insemination. At the same time, 66.7% of them had a pH of vaginal mucus of 8.0, and the remaining 33.3% of the test strip indicator showed a pH of 7.0.
