Abstract:
This article presents ideas and
observations about the advantages, role, and
importance of using digital textbooks (websites) in
education.
INTRODUCTION
The positive changes and achievements that are currently taking place in all areas
cannot be imagined without digital technologies. Using digital technologies in the process of providing
knowledge is aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of education. Digital technologies are used
in education for the following purposes:
Digital technologies (computers) as an object of study;
as technical means of teaching;
preparing and managing digital educational content;
used in scientific and pedagogical research.
In our country, great attention is paid to the widespread use of digital technologies in education,
creating opportunities for students to remotely monitor their knowledge and independently study
subjects. In this regard, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-5847 dated
October 8, 2019, sets out priority tasks such as “implementing the “E
-
MINBAR” platform, which creates
the opportunity to observe and master lectures, practical, laboratory exercises online and upload them
to electronic information storage devices, using cloud and digital technologies in educational processes,
accelerating the creation of national digital textbooks, and gradually increasing and improving the share
of digital textbooks.
”
Taking into account the above tasks, there is a need to create and widely implement digital textbooks
in teaching subjects, as well as to develop students' skills in independently using digital textbooks with
wide capabilities.

One of the most common and growing types of digital textbooks is a digital educational website. A
website is a collection of web pages interconnected by links hosted on a single server and providing
interactive services to users.
A digital learning site is defined as the content of a physical or virtual web server, the main purpose of
which is to support the learning process [2];
educational objectives information resource implemented through web technologies;
It consists of a collection of web pages that have a design, provide a purposeful educational and training
process, are unified in meaning, are oriented and physically located on a single server, and create a wide
range of opportunities for independent learning, along with controlling their users[3].
Digital educational sites hosted on the network contain all the necessary information for the
educational process.
The advantages of digital websites include:
simplicity and ease of navigation between pages of a digital website;
The information provided is easy to understand and clear;
the ability to place more information on digital websites;
High efficiency (operationality) and low cost for updating information;
the possibility of providing constant feedback to site visitors.
Using special technologies reflected in e-mail and the web, it allows students to complete laboratory
and practical work remotely, and includes the ability for teachers to remotely monitor student activity
and check the level of knowledge.
The content of digital educational sites, along with information about the educational organization, also
includes information about the educational process of students, educational methodological support,
which is constantly updated taking into account the requirements and needs of users. The content of
educational sites, along with information about the organization of education, also includes information
about the educational process of students, which is constantly updated taking into account the
requirements and needs of users.
Examples of digital educational sites include the personal websites of scientists E.V. Bugrovskaya, A.V.
Khutorskoy, T.P. Yashina and others.
Digital educational sites are sites of scientists, teachers, teachers of higher and secondary schools,
methodologists, aimed at studying a particular subject, which provide Internet users with materials that
are important for educational purposes [4]. On such sites, authors place their scientific and educational
methodological developments, working programs of subjects, study guides, digital textbooks, electronic
educational methodological complexes of subjects, methodological assignments for practical and
laboratory work, information for independent preparation for the exam in the subject, links to
electronic libraries, educational portals and other electronic educational resources.
Digital educational sites and textbooks are one of the most convenient tools for organizing students'
independent work, monitoring their activities, and creating ample opportunities for students to learn
independently. By implementing digital sites, students will not only get acquainted with the necessary
teaching and methodological materials and digital educational resources, but also have the opportunity
to spend their free time meaningfully and independently master subjects, complete and submit
assignments on time.
Analysis of the functional capabilities of the elements of the electronic resource complex allows
students to systematically form excellent (thorough) and meaningful scientific and professional
knowledge, skills in working with information technologies, create their own system of independent

perception and critical thinking, develop knowledge and skills, and develop the ability to work
independently on themselves[5].
When using digital textbooks to develop independent learning skills, students not only independently
master ready-made ideas and concepts, but also have the opportunity to draw their own conclusions
using various facts, information, and imagination.
Each element of the digital textbook complex has its own advantages and disadvantages, as well as the
possibilities of their use and application, therefore, their integration and integrated use in the
independent educational activities of future engineers is the most important way to improve the level
of their independent learning skills.
The time itself demands the creation of a national digital textbook information educational environment
(resource) in higher educational institutions, which is understood as a set of tools that ensure and
control the mastering of educational programs by students under the supervision of a teacher based on
digital textbook resources, information and telecommunication technologies. The implementation of an
electronic information educational environment in higher educational institutions is primarily
determined by its electronic resources, their qualitative characteristics, and the quality of independent
educational activities of future engineers.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the role of digital textbooks in improving the quality and efficiency of teaching in higher
education institutions, developing students' knowledge and skills, and forming independent learning
skills is incomparable. The use of web technologies in creating digital textbooks creates many
opportunities: expanding the audience of learners, dividing students into groups according to their level
of knowledge, giving assignments, working separately with gifted students, providing information
taking into account the wishes of users, conducting classes at arbitrary intervals, and much more.
