Relevance

. it is well known that vitamins play a role in energy metabolism, the biosynthesis of

amino acids and fatty acids, photorepression processes, blood coagulation, calcium absorption, and
more. Among the water-soluble vitamins, the B-group vitamins (B1, B2, B5, B6, B9/folate, B12) and
vitamin C are excreted in urine if consumed in excess, as they are not stored in the div. Therefore,
their daily intake is essential. These vitamins play an important role in strengthening the immune
system, ensuring proper energy production, and protecting the div from various diseases.

The aim of the study:

to determine the content of water-soluble vitamins in the herb of the

creeping plant

Trifolium repens

L. (white clover) using high-performance liquid chromatography

(HPLC).

Materials and methods:

the aerial parts of the creeping plant

Trifolium repens

L. were

collected in Tashkent city in 2025 during the full flowering phase and used as the object of study. For
the determination of water-soluble vitamins using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC),
acetate buffer systems and acetonitrile were used as eluents (Figure 1).

Eluent composition (acetate buffer : acetonitrile): 0–5 min → 96:4; 6–8 min → 90:10;

9–15 min → 80:20; 15–17 min → 96:4; Column oven temperature:

25°C.

Conclusions:

HPLC analysis of the aerial part of

Trifolium repens

L. identified ascorbic acid

(vitamin C) as the predominant water-soluble vitamin, supporting the plant’s chemical
characterization.
