Abstract

This article discusses the concept of a modular approach, its importance in the educational process, and especially the theoretical and practical aspects of its application in mother tongue lessons. The modular approach is analyzed as an important tool for developing students' independent thinking, ensuring an individual approach, and improving the quality of education. The article also shows the effectiveness of this approach through the division of the lesson process into modules, assessment mechanisms, ways to increase student activity, and practical examples. This approach is considered an innovative method in mother tongue education.

Abstract

: This article discusses the concept of a modular approach, its importance in the

educational process, and especially the theoretical and practical aspects of its application in mother
tongue lessons. The modular approach is analyzed as an important tool for developing students'
independent thinking, ensuring an individual approach, and improving the quality of education.
The article also shows the effectiveness of this approach through the division of the lesson process
into modules, assessment mechanisms, ways to increase student activity, and practical examples.
This approach is considered an innovative method in mother tongue education.

Аннотация:

В статье рассматривается концепция модульного подхода, его значение в

образовательном процессе, а также теоретические и практические аспекты его применения,
особенно на занятиях по родному языку. Модульный подход проанализирован как важный
инструмент

развития

самостоятельного

мышления

студентов,

обеспечения

индивидуального подхода и повышения качества образования. В статье также
демонстрируется эффективность данного подхода через разделение процесса урока на
модули, механизмы оценки, способы повышения вовлеченности учащихся и практические
примеры. Такой подход считается инновационным методом обучения родному языку.

In the modern educational process, one of the important tasks is to develop students' personal
abilities, to teach them independent thinking, creativity, communication and information analysis.
To achieve these goals, it is necessary to abandon traditional teaching methods and introduce
innovative pedagogical technologies, in particular, a modular approach, into the educational
process. A modular approach serves to gradually and systematically form students' knowledge and

establish their independent work. This article discusses the essence, basic principles, advantages
of the modular approach, as well as how it is used in native language lessons.
The modular approach is one of the modern methods that began to take shape in pedagogy at the
end of the 20th century. It was initially tested experimentally in Russia, the USA and European
countries, and after showing its effectiveness, it began to be widely used internationally. The main
essence of modular education is to teach educational materials through separate, logically
interconnected modules. Each module sets specific learning objectives, forms of educational
activity, assessment criteria and final control tasks. Such an approach ensures the development of
interactive communication between the teacher and the student.
Basic principles of the modular approach
The modular approach is based on the following principles:
1. Modularity - The educational content is divided into logically interconnected sections. Each
module is aimed at achieving a separate final result.
2. Independence - The student completes the module based on his/her own independent activity
mastered.
3. Effectiveness – The results achieved in each module are assessed with accuracy.
4. Individual orientation – The unique characteristics and capabilities of each student are taken
into account.
5. Reflection and analysis – The student evaluates his/her own activities, works on mistakes, and
develops himself/herself.
Modular education has the following advantages over traditional lessons:
- Students develop the skills of independent work, thinking, analysis, and expressing their
opinions.
- Each student can work at his/her own pace of learning.
- The teacher monitors the development dynamics of each student and provides support based on
an individual approach.
- The educational process is carried out systematically, logically, and consistently.
- Students are formed as active, creative thinkers, and thirsty for knowledge.
- The student's level of knowledge is accurately measured through assessment at the end of each
module.
Application of the modular approach in native language lessons
The use of the modular approach in native language lessons is of particular importance. This
subject, along with deepening linguistic knowledge, developing spelling, grammatical, and
methodological skills, teaches students a culture of communication and literary literacy. By
presenting educational materials based on modules, a deep, consistent, and analytical approach is
implemented on each topic.
For example, the “Word Groups” module is structured as follows:
- Purpose: To provide a general understanding of word groups, to distinguish them by grammatical
features.
- Activities: Group work, tests, case analysis, creative assignments.
- Supervision: Midterm tests, final written work, oral questions and answers.

- Reflection: Students' reflection on their own level of knowledge, analysis of strengths and
weaknesses.
In modular education, the teacher is no longer just a provider of information, but also a person
who manages educational activities, guides in solving problems and directs the student to self-
realization. The teacher:
- Prepares modules and adapts them to the needs of students;
- Assesses the capabilities of each student;
- Encourages the student to be active;
- Teaches independent learning;
- Explains the assessment criteria and applies them fairly.
In conclusion, the modular approach takes the educational process to a qualitatively new level.
This approach teaches students to be independent, active, eager for knowledge, and responsible.
Especially, the use of this methodology in native language lessons serves not only language
knowledge, but also personal development. Therefore, the widespread introduction of the modular
approach in native language lessons and the organization of lessons based on modern requirements
are one of the important tasks for teachers.
